Who are the Republicans trying to nominate? (not Clark)
It's a red flag when the GOP is using the same talking
points as Clark's adversaries.

Excerpt ---

"Republican leaders, seeking to deflect what appears to be Clark's growing popularity, criticized the general for what they call an inconsistence stance on the war on terrorism.

'Wesley Clark can't seem to figure out where he stands on major issues of national defense,' Ted Halaby, chairman of the Colorado Republican Party, said in a news release. 'The voters of Colorado expect more than empty rhetoric and double talk. Unfortunately, that is all we have seen from the Clark campaign to this point' "

----------

It's funny how the GOP seems to be "running against Clark" at
this point. Could it be more obvious that they fear facing him?
Last time I checked, we aren't even through the primary season
just yet.

This makes me laugh.

1. Here's what I don't get

Clark's website has very detailed plans for the economy, health care, Iraq, jobs, and a civilian service plan, so how can these morans, and many DUers say he's all talk? Makes no sense.

ON EDIT: Here are the plans-

12. It's easier to just be ignorant. That way, they can keep calling Clark
Edited on Mon Nov-10-03 09:40 AM by boxster
a Republican, a Rove operative, Mr. PNAC, blah, blah.

If they bothered to look at his stances on the issues, they'd realize that he's pretty liberal, and that would take away one of their major criticisms of Clark - that he's a conservative running as a Democrat.

Edit: for a perfect example, see mdmc's response to the original posting below.

14. Who is called a "Rove operative"?
Seems Dean gets that label a lot more than Clark. But the accusation of Clark as a conservative Democrat is pretty much partisan bullshit.

2. Clark is win win for the GOP
If the neo con loses, at least a pro war dem takes the helm - and not one (like Gep or Leiberman) with a record of liberal voting.

5. That seems to fly in the face of the reality that they are doing...
everything they can to stop him.

It was the RNC that released the Republican Fundraiser video.

Kind of convenient for them, eh?

10. Good Point about a lack of public voting record!
that is exactly the phrase I have been looking for and the reason I don't particularly like Clark.

He has no public voting record. He can talk and talk all he wants but without anything to back him up I am not so sure.

Everyone talks about how great it is to bring "outsiders" into the political process...that is well and good but to be honest I think that you have to be pretty naieve to think that most of these people are really "outsiders". Outsiders also have little chance of knowing the process of getting things done... Bush pretended to be an outsider to the repubs that voted for him...but he is and always was inside that game.

3. Why I Don't Care
Why I don't care who the Repugs want or don't want to run against.

What gives their opinion in the matter some golden stamp of prescience? If the party is so damn smart, why did they put a moron in office who will potentially keep them out of the white house for the foreseeable future?

I just don't buy the notion that the pukes are politically brilliant. They are just willing to play extra dirty, that's all. I could care less who they want to run against.

4. Oh brother
This is good. A bunch of suits in the Republican Party, most or all of whom have never served in uniform, are going to judge Wesley Clark's national defense credentials.

7. The GOP is scared
they know that the methods with which they have achieved power are wearing thin. Clinton hating seems to have lost its luster and with all the pre-war lies exposed fear-mongering doesn't seem nearly as effective either.

So they cite some general's petty little swipes about Clark and describe Dean as some extreme librul *for full effect spit that word out like it's a disease on your tongue*.

Yep they are scared as well they should be.

8. And proof the media is stupid...
http://www.msnbc.com/news/990895.asp?0cv=KB20

YET BUSH’S LEAD against the five leading Democratic contenders-Howard Dean, Wesley Clark, John Kerry, Joe Lieberman, and Richard Gephardt-has shrunk to a low of 4 points, vs. 6 points a month ago. Dean continues to poll best against Bush, with 45 percent of respondents saying they would vote for him, compared to 49 percent for Bush. Last month, 43 percent would have voted for Dean and 49 percent Bush. In a race against Clark, Bush would win 48 percent of the vote vs. 45 percent for Clark. Last month, those numbers were 49 percent and 43 percent.

http://www.msnbc.com/news/990895.asp?0cv=KB20

____________

I love how they say Dean is doing the best against Bush when
according to this poll Clark's numbers are the same (within
MOE) or better.

Can anyone say "accuracy in reporting"?

9. Yeah
I saw that. I kept re-reading it about ten times trying to see what I was missing. Dean, Clark and Bush are all in a statistical tie, but I certainly couldn't see how they could report that Dean polled best.

don't you think we owe MSGOP an email on this obvious distortion? It could possibly be an honest mistake. If we call their attention to it they may even correct it.
