That anti abortion bill.
I am really interested to know how many and what dems signed that bill, to help it move through and become law. Of course the result being women right across America had better begin waking up, because they have all ready lost one right, and if the religious zealots leading the country have their way, women will soon be barefoot and pregnant, and back in the kitchen.

Anyway, I really would like to know. I am currently doing a lot of research on the religious right, for an article I am writing concerning the religious right, and the queer community. I would really like to use that bill as a good example of rights being taken away by a minority group. But of course don't want to use it if too many dems have their hands dirty from signing that bill.

All help would be greatly appreciated it.

Thanks,

FC

5. That is one picture that...
...I just can't stand to look at.

It is so telling, and so upsetting about what these zealots are like.

I just don't understand why their wives don't turn tail and say well fuck you! No sex until you realize that women have rights too.

6. Those ladies don't care.
They got their trophy wife benefits, the hell with the rest of the women in the country.

9. It is sad, but true.
If their wives would have more respect for themselves then maybe shit like this would never happen.

3. Barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen?
Or, maybe it's time for us to get guns, sequester ourselves into compounds way out in the woods and let them try.

7. LOL
When I first that picture the other day when Skinner posted it, the first thought I had was, should I take my bra off and burn it? It really feels like it is time for the women's lib movement to come back bigger and stronger than ever.

10. No bra burning this time.
We need to get those bullet proof bustiers on, sling an M-16 across our shoulders and DARE them to pass legislation that is nothing but sexist.

14. Excuse me.
Why don't you go freep somewhere else?

I asked a question to my fellow DUers. I didn't direct my question to you, did I? Please don't try and hijack my thread with your right wing rhetoric.

Back your claims up with facts, then you might get somewhere with me.

16. Why don't you talk...
...to the many women who have just lost that right of choice about this?

Why don't you talk to the women who have had a baby die inside them and had to have a partial birth abortion to save their own lives?

Why don't you to talk to the many widowed husbands who had a wife and a baby, only for that baby to die during the gestation period, then have their wife die from infection because no doctor was able to help her?

When you understand that no man on this earth has any right what so ever to tell me what I can and can't do with MY body NOT YOURS, then I might begin talking to you.

I am one of the lucky ones. Doctors and government here in Australia are thankfully a lot different.

My sister was pregnant with twins and had one of those twins die while it was still in side her. If it wasn't for the quick thinking of the doctors (who had the freedom to do what was needed), my sister would have died, and the surviving twin would have died.

Wake up buddy! NO government has the right to decide this.

17. herein lies the problem
Lookie here! He doesn't even know which end of the baby comes out first yet he's making medical safety decisions! Same problem with those in the picture, although probably they have less ignorance and more evil behind the decision. At least do some reading on the subject before acting like an idiot.

21. You missed this part...
"...and reduces the sizes of the fetal head enough to allow it to pass through the cervix."

Do you also think that women may want this done so they can fit into their party dress if they don't give birth in time?

24. Can't tell from the picture
if the kid even has shoulders.

Besides, the shoulders fold together during birth to the same size or smaller then the head.

27. We could do the D&E
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 05:29 AM by sandnsea
That's where the doctor pulls out the fetus piece by piece at 12-20 weeks, sometimes later. Is that a better choice?

Just what exactly did you think was happening years ago when women had complications in their pregnancies and the doctors had to 'take the baby'? This has been going on for decades. We used to feel great empathy for the trauma the mother went through in having to terminate a pregnancy because of her health. What used to be talked about in hushed tones with the deepest sympathies is now a crime. This is where 'christianity' has taken us.

26. It's not a viable fetus
The woman is having a dilation and extraction, a medical procedure, not a delivery. She is having this procedure because she is having some sort of complications and needs to terminate the pregnancy or because the fetus is dead or because the doctors have determined the fetus will not live because of severe abnormalities. The D&X can happen any time after the 20th week or so.

You have been lied to. The procedure is not what your fundie friends told you it was. Your choice to not learn the facts will cause women to die. I'll pray for your soul, God will not look kindly on you.
