1. Dorgan says that the appropriations bill is going to be
packaged so that it cannot discussed and it will be approved???
God, what is going on.
30 hours of debate on Judges for the majority party to ruminate that 4 of their nominees have not been approved.
168 have been approved.

2. Dorgan: lowest bench vacancy in many years because of
democrat cooperation with Bush.
He wants to talk about the 168 judges that Democrats did confirm.

Constitution known by Byrd. Describes constitution in vivid detail.

It does not say that the president has the right to put a judge in a bench for life. The process is other.

3. Dorgan: even Washington did not get all judges approved. n/t
The same he was a witness (Estrada) ND judge answered the questions that Mr. Estrada refused to answer.
No excuses needed to vote against Mr. Estrada.

11. Talking about the pretext of terrorism to pass all kinds of
legislation including the Energy Bill without proper discussion or debate.
Not one Iraqi was among the hijackers of the airplanes on september 11.
So it must be a matter of great chagrin to the adm not to be able to bring forth that link between Iraq and 9/11.

13. Protection of our oil lifeline.
We would not have such close relationship with the middle east if it were not for the oil lifeline to our economy.
Instead of trying to disentagle from this dependency on oil, we dig ourselves deeper in the sands of the ME.

15. Help is on the way. While our citizens were lost and stranded
in New York's subways, the Bush adm. was busy handling sole bid contracts to Halliburton.

19. Not only partinsanship but the utter contempt that Bush demonstrates
for congressional authority.
No debate but just dictum.
We are expected to sit quietly and just rubberstamp.
The people of WV did not send me here to be a rubber stamp.

21. The energy bill a solution for all our problems? Doubtful.
American people should be too smart to accept this.
He the delineated what an energy policy should be: maximize energy efficiency....and conservation.
