I predict this what will happen in the unlikely case Dean is the Dem candidate.

2. My crystal ball is tells another story
Nader vs. Dean vs. Bush and Dean winning. Nader getting about half the vote he got in 2000, as the left will unite behind the democratic nominee as the best shot to get rid of Bush.

3. The case is _not_ unlikely...
...and either McKinney is too smart to fall for it, or she confirms by running all the more hurtful things said about her in 2002

Get a grip/

6. a possible green candidate
:dem:
not a bad choice for the greens. I'd rather see some REGISTERED homegrown greens run on leftist issues. I think Dean, Kerry, Braun, Kucinich could run well in that type of race. Clark, Edwards could still win a three way race if they can win back a couple red states.

7. One of Bushes fiercest critics in the Congress and possibl Green candidate
Zell Miller and corporate interests went all out to defeat her. She was portayed as looney because she said 9-11 was for BFEE profit. She sure seems prophetic now.

16. Most years I would probably agree with you
Dean would normally run the risk of splitting the left vote as many see him as too conservative to be a viable option for liberals. But this year the left will vote to get rid of Bush, no matter who the Dem nominee is.

11. Jake Plummer
Danny Kanell(#13) didn't do too bad on Monday Night Football, I mean he didn't lose the game for the Broncos. He was always one of my favorites when he played here. Are you talking about when he was on the New York Giants or Florida State?

17. He didn't lose MNF, the Pats just kick too much ass!
Sorry, couldn't resist. As a long suffering Pats fan I feel the need to revel in the fact that they don't suck these days. And did you know they won the Superbowl two years ago?! ;)

19. If I was Tom Brady
I would've thrown the ball in Deltha O'Neal's direction all game, he can't cover worth shit and this is just not from watching last weeks game. Ever since watching him last season he would be notorious for being burnt deep. But the Broncos would've done better if their two pro bowl linebackers weren't injured, their kicker(which effected the playcalling, two times they punted when they were in field goal range), their starting and backup QB, their second best WR, and a player on their offensive line. But I have no reason to complain, all of those players except two will be ready to play against San Diego in two weeks and they still have 7 weeks left and they have a winning record.

9. He's right...I'm dashing off a $2000 check to Bush/Cheney RIGHT NOW!
And writing to inform the Dean campaign that they may as well shut down immediately...before Cynthia McKinney starts vacumning up all the money!

12. If Dems don't offer minorities a more appealing candidate than Dean
then they will lose one way or another. Dean's "talking" about race whether misguided or I think cynically, is hurting our party. It's not this one flap. Dean has been endorsed 8 times by the NRA and he never objected. I guess has to assume Dean's racial views aren't much different than Charlton Hestons. His original affirmative action stand seems consistant with something Heston would say. Can't we come up with a candidate who appeals across the board to all Democrats, to all Americans, instead of someone who's quotes often sound like George Wallace. Instead of a preppie from an all white rural state who either can't control his mouth or more likely is cynically using the Confderate flag, a symbol most minorities and many whites equal with the Nazi swastika.

18. why was Dean wrong on AA?
If you make it economically based the blacks will still win out because they are economically disadvantaged in comparison to whites. PLUS you won't be focusing on race any longer so you can move closer to a truly race-neutral society AND those who do benefit from the program wouldn't be slandered as getting preferential treatment "just because" they are black.

Dean just says stuff that is too smart for some people to understand sometimes. You have to think a little bit about where he is coming from.

13. No, but morally it's hard to vote a Confderate flag panderer
Third party candidates will be more appealing if Dean is the nominee

14. Who is "pandering"...Dean for NASCAR Dads...or others to Blacks?
Let's face it...Dean has used that line since February and no one's complained. Now that Kerry, Gephardt, Edwards et al have focus-grouped and poll-tested the phrase (and conspired on a conference call to spin it), they're rolling out the issue...to pander to Black voters in the states where they can compete with Dean.

15. I've been complaining since Feb.It's part of Dean's states right's copouts
States rights for this, states rights for that, rather than taking a stand. Now, he's the Dem candidate saying he still wants the be candidate of those who put the Confederate flag on their pickup trucks. A Yankee from a liberal state of only 600,000 whites endorsed by the race pandering NRA 8 times. A Dem candidate who cozies up with the Cato Institute. It's Bizarro world and very dangerous to this party.

22. I still don't see what is wrong with Dean
As far as the NRA thing goes, why is it necessary for a Dem to endorse stricter gun control? I personally consider myself very liberal but I don't believe that stricter gun control is the answer. Many other western nations have gun control laws similar to ours (take Canada for example) yet have FAR lower homicide rates. Obviously it isn't as simple as guns=murder. There is something else about American society that provides a causal link between the two. Thus, simply making it harder for law abiding citizens to get guns will do very little to effect violent crime rates.

And as for affirmative action, please see my previous post in this thread.
