Here in Northern Virginia the wingnut candidate (favors teaching creationism, vouchers, banning books, etc) for Chairman of the County Board of Supervisors got soundly trounced last night; and 7 out of 10 board seats went to Democratic candidates. However, it seems that 9 out of over 1,000 voting machines malfunctioned, and as a result the repugs have gone to court contesting the election results. I swear, I truly believe that these miserable bastards would rather steal an election than win one honestly.

1. Look on the bright side

This sets a precedent that they don't like the machines either. Let them try to gain something from this. Doesn't sound like they will. On the other hand, we have them on public record claiming that the machines don't work.

2. Not Quite Right

They are contesting the results from those machines only. Democrats won by such a wide margin it won't make any difference. I must say, I voted on one of those machines and it was very easy to use. Of course, no paper trail, so once I touched "Vote" I had no idea at all what was happening

Also, this is a big defeat for Cong. Tom Davis, who I think is the guy in Congress responsible for getting Republicans elected. He poured alot of resources into this and got hammered.
