Go back 35 years and substitute Viet Nam for Iraq and you have the same lame reasoning put out by the administration and the Pentagon then.

Many times an inexperienced poker player uses this same flawed justification for staying in the game. With a weak hand he has already hung in for a couple of rounds of betting. He has put a significant amount of money in the pot. Since he will surely lose if he folds, he stays in and sees more raises.

This is called "throwing good money after bad". The stakes rise infinitely when lives instead of money are in the balance.

I was very young during the Viet Nam war but I DO remember it quite vividly. I especiallyr remember the body counts on the news. It's like deja vu now.

I still don't understand how killing more of our young men and women in an unjustified "preemptive" invasion somehow "honors" all the wrongful deaths that have already ocurred.
