Nearly 200 DC Democrats attended the Ward 7 and 8 Debate Watch at Politiki on Capitol Hill Oct. 26. Following the debate, Gov. Howard Dean won the straw poll by an overwhelming margin—58 percent of the voters chose Dean for President.

1. Meaning

the event was well-attended by well-networked Dean supporters. Yippy. Fun to see Al and CMB up there in 2nd and 3rd too, with 20% of the vote. It's just a poll of 162 people who attended a debate watch party together. I don't think this tells us much at all re: any of the candidates, although it is interesting that many DC local politicos endorse Gov. Dean. For what that's worth.
