ldotters and freepers going nuts over 'the reagans'
Edited on Mon Oct-27-03 08:41 PM by ann_coulter_is_a_man
there's a thread on goldberg's site to the same effect, concentrating on hallmark
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1007267/posts

i had no desire to see this cheeseball tv movie, but anything that pisses off the right this much can't be too bad

these people have no lives. all they oo is sit around and try to think of things to boycott. will the media act like they speak for the country yet again? like they did with the dixie chicks?

maybe it's time to send a brief letter to hallmark letting them no that this is merely the work of two pathetic websites?

and isn't funny that the same people who gobbled up copies of falwell's 'clinton chronicles' are suddenly so concerned with historical accuracy regarding presidents?

2. Piss on them

I bet they had no problem with that right wing distortion of facts on Bush and 911 that was shown on HBO or Showtime, whatever channel that was.

3. Oh, exactly, DemDem!
My thoughts exactly. They didn't seem to have problems with THAT at all.

I read part of the Freep thread. Here is a good one - if you read this carefully for grammar, they are actually "threatening" to buy from the movie's sponsor!

"we WILL EFFECT SALES if J in the Box is silent to our complaints."

The way I learned English, "effect" sales means they will "cause" sales.

6. What's the problem? Reagan was a shit head, as most
respected historians have pointed out.

7. What's their beef?
How did they portray him, and how the hell do they know how he is portrayed if it hasn't been shown?

9. what morans
The geniouses are actually posting their blowoff letters like they really had an effect-----

someone posted a list of all properties that Viacom owns, suffice to say that these freepers won't be listening to any radio, tv, (including cable channels), or movies for some time.

10. We can succesfully CounterFReep CBS
I have an even bigger list of CBS contacts and sponsors than the post cited above (I lifted it from a different FRuitcake thread).

So go here , click on a few links, and send a message to CBS and its sponsors -- one of support for running an unvarnished look at the Reagans. Make sure to mention that the network and sponsors are the target of a coordinated fake "grassroots" campaign. I even went so far as to describe Free Republic as "fascist-leaning" and "cult-like."

The more of us that do this, the better.

11. My favorite one was the Freeper who suggested that the others
download the free program that one can get at gator.com so they could fill out the fields on complaint forms faster.

Suckers.

PA FREEPER PING (I cobbled together two lists so pardon me if anyone got double pinged.)

I got through the above list in about 20 minutes and just kept pasting the below correspondence in the windows. FWIW- I do this type of thing a lot and I downloaded a free program here http://www.gator.com/ that populates my name, email, phone # etc. It's a HUGE time saver with this type of thing if anyone is interested. (The only "cost" is that it throws open another window in the background that hosts a pretty lame search engine whenever you go to Google.com).

Dear Sirs,

It's come to my attention that you will be sponsoring the
upcoming fictional portrayal of Ronald Reagan's life "The Reagans".

I've read the coverage concerning the script and the
manufactured quotes which convinces me this is nothing more
than a partisan rip job.

Due to the fact that you are a sponsor of this program, I am
writing to inform you that I will boycott your business and am
informing other likeminded individuals of the opportunity to do
the same.

You should really examine the content of what you
sponsor and distance yourself from such contentious material.

Regards,

Owl_Eagle

I see... a chronic complainer. With nothing else to do but fillout bogus complaint forms all day.

Ladies and gentlemen... it's your typical whiny sissy freeper!

12. What is mind-boggling is ALL of them have no clue what is portrayed
Edited on Mon Oct-27-03 09:42 PM by BuckeFushe
about Raygun. If you read the excerpt on the Drudge site, it shows the Jipper (pun intended) reflecting on the situation in Lebanon, and doesn't seem to be portraying him as a nutcase. NO ONE knows what the final version will reflect, but these asswipes are already demonizing everything connected to it.

Wouldn't it be tasty if the publicists at CBS were leaking this crap to get the nutjobs interested? Wonder how they'd respond to a movie about the Big Dog? And boycotting Budwiser? What will they do for swill?

sells for 2.50 a 6 pak here, right next to Schaefer at 2.25 and Pabst at 2.75.If they can squeeze some change out of the car seat, they may even be able to afford Schmidts.
