Hooray for FOX and Jesse Jackson!!!!

Now that I have your attention:

I hate FOX News and I don't have many good feelings about the Rev Jesse Jackson...BUT last night was one of those watershed moments for me. Last night Jesse was on FOX discussing the Shoshauna vs Jessica issue and to his crdedit he would not be baited by the interviewer into making this a racial issue alone...in fact, I don't think he ever used the word race. But his statements were most important and DUers should give him credit for putting the real issues out in front and I give FOX credit for even allowing Jesse on the show because I have not seen any other media outlet address these issues. In summary, Jesse was able to plead the cause of all of our men and women who are returning wounded from Iraq and for those 14 military suicides. We need to be all over the media--who Jesse soundly criticized over the Jessica Lynch lying fiasco--for not telling the story about the dead and wounded returning home. Here are the points Jesse made as I recall:

Jessica Lynch is not to blame for the lies about her rescue.

She and Shoshauna are friends.

It wasn't Jessica who fabricated the story about her rescue, it was the MEDIA. They wanted so badly to have a war hero (by inference to pump up the Bush regime)

No one is talking about the dead bodies coming back--no pictures from Dover. If the media is being blacked out from Dover they need to raise the issue with the public.

No one is talking about the thousands of wounded returning from Iraq and the shaby treatment and care theay are receiving once back home. Jesse mentioned that wounded soldiers returning to Dover have to pay their own way to their homes.

Some wounded have not even had their first real medical visit.

There were 14 suicides by our soldiers in Iraq..why?

The real story about Iraq is still not getting out.

Much of the blame for all of this lies squarely with the Bush regime and the MEDIA!

the military. The media went joyfully along with the fraud like they have done all along.

I'm wondering what is up with Fox. Is Murdoch taking jabs at the misadministration or just looking to bump ratings? But hey if Fox carried the story I do have to give credit for that.

12. Giving another kick

I saw Jesse yesterday morning, I was just passing through the room, so I don't remember the station. He was addressing many things, the lack of medical treatment for our returning wounded troops, and the fact that many parents are having to provide their children with body armor.

Regardless of how anybody feels about Rev. Jackson, he is speaking out. I applaud him for that, and for saying things that other Democrats should be making an issue of.
