Take a minute to donate a mammogram
I just received this, and it seems like a good DU cause. It only takes a few seconds, and it's for an excellent organization.

Many of us have health care plans that cover mammograms, but unfortunately there are many Americans who do not.

------

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman.

It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

2. Kick...

and clicked! My mom found out five years ago two days before Thanksgiving that she needed to have her right breast removed. At 23, it was my first encounter with dealing with the idea of losing either of my parents. My girlfriend was a pillar for me as I was three states away from Mom.

Well, I'm happy to report that I will be seeing my Mom and Dad this weekend, celebrating their anniversary, both their birthdays and 5-year anniversary of cancer free living! The girlfriend ended up making me the happiest person in the world by generously saying "I do" with me 2 1/2 years ago!

edit: darn typos!

3. congratulations!
Both for the girlfriend and for your mom being cancer-free for 5 years. My sister was diagnosed 6 years ago, and fortunately because it was caught in time she's doing well today.

I think that programs like this are important, since so many women are losing their health insurance daily and this disease IS treatable if it's detected early. We have to work through this ourselves, since the * administration is doing nothing.
