I couldn't find the polling thingy to do a poll--where did it go? But, I really need opinions from dedicated observers. I'm not interested in Faux watchers. I mean "Mainstream Cables."

1. CNN has really changed

Just this week.

Monday night they ran that puff piece about a medical doctor who was returning from Iraq (he enlisted in his '40s) who said that what he saw happening in Iraq was different from the news reports. In his opinion things are going "swiningly" (my word) over there They ended the piece with a shot of him in his uniform, saluting while the High School choir sang God Bless America . It was pure propaganda.

Then yesterday, Lew Dobbs Moneyline started a financial segment with America's Bright Future . An obvious reference to a hugh improving economy. (uuummmm...I haven't seen it yet, have you?)

Seems they got Rove's memo...........

2. Inside Politics is all Scharzenegger/ Dean/ Bush.

It's pretty clear who they want on the ballot.

Three separate pieces on Dean today, 2 on Arnold. Hellooooo???

7. Old saying "Be careful what you wish for ~ you may just get it"

I think this is the case. Dean is a lot smarter than Ah-nold and Bush* put together. I also think he is close to Bush*'s equal when it comes to politiking. Bush* is extremely clever when it comes to politics. Don't underestimate him. I don't think Dean will do that and I don't think Dean is a bit cowed by the Bush* Cabal.

3. Dobbs is a wingnut

...and a pimp for the administration. I don't consider him 'mainstream' cable at all - just another fat-assed Republican spinmeister.

Did you see a segment he ran about a month ago entitled, "Where the Jobs Are"? Hey, America, guess where he says 'the jobs are' - at Krispy Kreme doughnuts! That's right, all you programmers and factory workers, there are oodles of minimum-wage jobs available working the fryer! Who says this is a jobless recovery? I wanted to barf.

4. I've Seen A Couple Of Interseting Things.

One was an exchange between Wolf Blitzer and Commerce Secretary Don Evans on Late Edition With Wolf Blitzer.

Didn't Evans say at some point that women in Iraq weren't allowed to attend school under Saddam? I think he had Iraq confused with Afghanistan. Just another pointless lie.

And the image of a woman doing grunt work Soviet-style hardly illustrates a progressive society vis-a-vis women.

6. I know it's sorta off-topic, but ABC News has done a bang-up job...

... of informing Americans about the current health care crisis. They've gone wall-to-wall with it this week, with stories highlighted on Good Morning America, World News Tonight, and Nightline.

I find that very encouraging, and the more people we can educate about the current, and larger looming health insurance crisis, the better.

8. Maybe the "Old Network News" is the one to watch? ABC/CBS/NBC Network?

and forget the "glitz" of the cables with their new "razzle dazzle" studios?
