Pat Robertson expresses his disgust for religion
http://mediamatters.org/items/200512190011

ROBERTSON: You know, what we have got to recognize just there in this case is that the evolutionists worship atheism. I mean, that's their religion. And evolution becomes their religion. It is a matter of religion. So this is an establishment of religion contrary to the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. And the fact that somebody comes along and says, "We are not sure that it's accurate, it's a theory and not a fact" -- how can you say it's a fact? You are talking about 10 to 15 billion years ago. Who was there?

TERRY MEEUWSEN (co-host): Scientifically, you would think that the scientific community would rise to the occasion and say, "Absolutely, let's keep an open mind. Let's continue to discover and search."

ROBERTSON: Yeah, well, a lot of scientists are. More and more are. They are saying there are just too many things that can't be explained by evolution. But, I mean, these fanatics, I mean, it is a religion, it is a cult. It is cultish religion, and whenever you start talking about the origins of life, you now get into religious matter, and theirs is just as much religion. The only difference is that even questioning, questioning that -- the ACLU says even if you question our religion, you are guilty of violating the First Amendment. I mean, give me a break.

3. Hey Pat: It's "origin of the SPECIES" not life.
You ignorant asshat. Darwin does not discuss the origins of life. I guess that's your job....

7. I hate to break it to you, folks...
...but Robertson's take on evolution is only the tip of the iceberg. You should check out Evolution: Foundation for the Antichrist by young-earth creationist Kent Hovind sometime.

8. Love this user comment:
"If evolution is a religion then not collecting stamps is a hobby."

Although I think he meant to say atheism.

10. I would love to give Pat a break
I'd be more than happy to donate cotton batting to pad the walls of his room.

Oh wait, that would stop a break wouldn't it? Mmmmm...I may have to reconsider my offer.

You think his worshippers will ever figure out what a piss poor representative he makes when it comes to anything regarding Christianity?

None so blind as those who will not see.

sigh

14. Can I be a Televolutionist with my own show? Credit cards are
acceptable, so are gifts left in your will. Darwin wanted you to dig deep and make sure we have enough resources to spread our message all over the world.

15. The belief of a creator does not exclude evolution
This is such stupidity.

I was taught evolution in school and "there is no God or 'creator'" was never mentioned.

If you are a Christian then science as I most recently heard from Jimmy Carter say is simply opening up your eyes to what "God has created."

"Scientifically, you would think that the scientific community would rise to the occasion and say, "Absolutely, let's keep an open mind. Let's continue to discover and search." :banghead: :banghead:

What do they think researchers do?

It's so amazing how much of the boat Pat misses and continues to call himself a preacher. It just amazes me how anyone who calls themselves Christian follows this man.

Sorry but people like him erk me so much when they think they speak for my religion. It is not our job to shut down research or scientific advancement! It is not our job to codify into law all sins, God has his on system for that. And I have a feeling he's waiting for Pat and Pat will be very surprised!

And one last question for Pat, I will be in church this Sunday the 25th, I wonder if he will?

16. It's plan B
See, when the Dover creationists were bending over backward to claim the ID is not religious, Rev. Robertson blew it by calling down the wrath of God on the voters who tossed them out. So, his new tactic is to claim that evolution is religion, so it shouldn't be taught, either.
