WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO OUR IDIOT MEDIA ONE THING
THERE IS A PROCESS FOR BUSH TO GET THE WIRETAPS. HE HAS TO GO TO A SPECIAL COURT AND GET A WARRANT. STOP SETTING UP THESE FALSE CHOICES BETWEEN RESPECTING CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND SECURITY. BUSH AIN'T SPYING ON PETA BECAUSE OF 9/11. HE'S SPYING SO THAT HE CAN ELIMINATE DISSENT OF HIS ILLEGAL ADMINISTRATION.

sorry for the caps.

1. They DESERVE CAPS!
The last ten years has produced some of the DUMBEST ASS newsreaders in history.

And I am quite certain that was an intentional goal of the fascists in charge.

2. And the warrant can be obtained AFTER the fact
so yes, there's definitely an element of nefariousness about the wiretaps. I mean really - how can people believe they're doing it to protect us from the evil terrorists?

point of thread is to show even if you look past the required warrants for wiretaps and just look at the arguement of "national security" that the WH is trying to make.

HOW IN THE WORLD ARE QUAKERS, VEGANS, PETA, ect.. considered a threat to national securtity???

How come you keep telling us that you are using this to monitor phone conservations between terrorists from overseas to the US and this clearly shows it on our OWN CITIZENS

AM I the only one that sees that crap in this ????

10. Are they spying on our "representatives", too?

Seriously, they have proven their culpability in abusing power. I have no reason to doubt that they have and are abusing this "SPYING ON AMERICANS" gig.

I swear, this whole situation is just freakin' crazy!!!

9. I think FISA warrants must have to do with
National Security (correct me if I'm wrong on this). Which, if I'm correct, begs the question of what they were doing that would not have passed FISA scrutiny.

11. 1984 was written in 1948
Network was filmed and released in 1976.

The Republican Noise Machine was written in 2002-2003? and covers media issues going back to the 1960s...

And they all beat the same drum. These guys aren't asking these questions because they don't know or think of them. They don't ask the questions because they are told not to...and they obey.

And This thread does deserve caps.

12. Gonzales is also participating in a false argument-when
questioned as to why the President was in his rights to issue an executive order that violates the FISA law-he stated that the reason was because we are in an "electronic age" and therefore need to do it this way. That is a fallacy. Being in an electronic age is not the cause of a choice made by this administration to break the law. The same as being commander and chief of the military in times of war does not mean he is the commander and chief of all US citizens. If he wants to spy on the army, maybe he has a leg to stand on. Why don't reporters call them out on these things. My 12th grade English teacher (God rest his sole) would be stroking right now.
