that are listed right here in the General discussion.

had to change it because people are feeling defeated - so fuck it.... what is the point?!!?!?!

That is pathetic, :argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh:

and for all of those whiners out there that do not think this will help neither will whining and doing nothing.:argh::argh::argh:

Will update with links to other threads in a second.

5. How does packing a nonscientific Internet poll change anything?
Who cares? These things don't get read or reported on to anyone but political junkies. They're not treated as factual. The front page of USATODAY doesn't report what the CNN Online instapoll said.

If it makes you feel better, then do it -- it won't hurt anything -- but who cares if some meaningless Internet poll gets freeped? If this is "pathetic" to you, I'd hate to see what happens when things that count don't go your way.

Maybe DUers aren't un-freeping polls because they're actually DOING SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE.

7. What Eyesroll said
Everybody knows these are just feel good polls, completely unscientific polls with no meaning out in the real world.

Don't take it all so seriously. Go out. Take verbal swipes against Bush wherever you go. Let other people know that being against the little bastard is an OK thing to be.

9. DUers are more than capable of doing both, BTW how do you think
the mindless MSM gets a feel for what Americans are thinking?????

Polls are reported to someone - who I don't know

But to think that all is lost in a vacum is called: giving up

Either way as said before DUers are more than talented enough to unfreep a poll and to work on other fronts as well.

16. Real polls are reported. Internet polls are not.
If they are, they're reported in the same breath as the polls that ask whether you're baking or buying your Christmas cookies this year, complete with "not scientific" disclaimer and sing-song presentation.

Excuse me if my involvment in the Democratic Party, Democracy for America, Drinking Liberally, FightingBob.com and my own site isn't enough. I don't do internet polls. I guess I've given up.

19. Arguing is more fun.
Sure, I have TIME to unfreep polls. I just think it's a waste of time.

OK, it's a bigger waste of time than arguing (I'll grant you that arguing isn't exactly productive either), and less entertaining.

at 1 pm sharp ...

Freeps (some of 'em) have programs that "auto-vote" hundreds of times.. I have better things to do that monitor a Boise Idaho newspaper poll or Lou Dobbs' slanted "question of the day" poll.:hi:

6. where do you think they get their poll
info from?

They get it from US and when we post the polls they go straight to them and call in the sheep!

Plus you can clear cookies and your vote is counted as many times as you have the patience for.

...they have never taken tombstoned people off that list...so actually there aren't 80,000 active registered here...but they can still click the links and vote in every poll that's posted on DU regardless.

20. Really, these "polls" lost all meaning after the one time they were
successfully used to muddy an issue during the 2000 recount. A freeped poll was cited by Bob Novak on CNN as if it were a real poll, but otherwise, tehy are pretty useless.

30. Polls are statistical masturbation.
They allow people to ignore what's happening outside of their boardroom or den. Polls will not remove these traitors from power. Polls will not save our economy. Polls will not save our soldiers or Iraqi citizens. Especially not internet polls.

Opinion is useless without action. Clicking buttons on websites that profit from your participation does nothing but pay someone else's rent. So, who gives a shit whether people "DU" a poll or not? What are they doing in the real world to save America?
