Cheney's new "retreat" in St Michael's MD
I hadn't seen this posted yet. Froomkin's column at washingtonpost.com today (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/linkset/2005/04/11/LI2005041100879.html) contains this item near the bottom:

Weekend Retreat
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Elisabeth Bumiller writes in the New York Times from the Chesapeake Bay retreat of St. Michaels, Md., where "Vice President Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld have found peace and quiet in their new weekend hawks' nests, even if their presence in this Chesapeake Bay retreat causes a racket in town."

Cryptome.org has collected all sorts of information on Cheney's new home, including a virtual tour of the property.

Here's the direct link to the virtual tour (I haven't posted here enough to figure out how to properly format the link in the quoted text):

Um, not bad for a "public servant".

4. That's his retirement home, where he plans to run the Secret Govt from
Once he's indicted and resigns for health reasons, he'll be running the Darth Cheney show from there.

6. It's a damn shame. St. Michaels used to be a nice place to go and
eat crabs. Now they've fucked it up with their greasy neo-con mojo. I wonder what the half-life is on that shit?

11. As far as being a "public servant",
Cheney's got lots of homes. They're all million-dollar mansions. I read Architectural Digest.

In one issue, a few years ago, there was a feature on Cheney's home. Cheney was on the cover, sitting in a beautiful Louis XIV chair. He looked positively stunning.

Inside the magazine, there was a spread on their beautiful home. Everything was matched perfectly. There was a greek bust, some Indian artwork on the walls. Lynne looked very happy.

Her jacket matched the tablecloth. They're just perfectionists, I tell ya.
