Chimpy Has Declared Himself DICTATOR Today
He has elevated himself above the law. He's belligerent and unapologetic about it. Welcome to the line, people. He has crossed over, it now only remains to see what will be done.

2. Our Reichstag moment is so... so... ...banal.
I knew this was coming but.. for it to happen like this... well... there's no grandeur in it, none whatsoever. Just, "We're unaccountable, we know it, what are you going to do about it?"

3. I was just saying that
My thought is that this event must closely match some speech or another given by Hitler during his terrible ascent. New ground is being broken, that's for sure.

5. That's what little Hitler wants.
:grr: Now he's foaming at the mouth over the Patriot Act not being renewed. He needs to just STFU!

6. Why does it matter if the PA is renewed?
Dictators can disregard laws when they feel like it.

13. Yes, he sounded really angry today speaking before the press conference
Belligerent, like you say. I heard part of it on the radio and that angry tone really came through. This psycho is grabbing for himself incredible amounts of power that does not belong to him and has so far been given everything he's wanted. They have control of three branches of government and the media.

What does he have to be so angry about?

He should be like the cat that ate the canary, not so fear-mongering, fearful and angry. I don't know if that's a good sign or a bad sign.

14. our only hope
'06 is our only hope. Repukes like things just the way they are, and they will do anything to keep things the way they are, including selling their souls.

I hope there is a God, just the way they think there is. I would love to be there on their Judgement Day. I'm not at all religious, but at times like this I wish I was.

17. We know that to some extent, the voting process is rigged.
The question is whether it is so massively rigged that it could change the outcome of a very large majority, say 60% Dems to 40% Pubs? It looks as though Ohio and Florida are gone. But, the 2006 election is winnable with the remaining states unless the vote machine scam has spread to other key states.

What we have here is a multi-year coup d'etat that is about 60% accomplished. Only the question about control of the 2006 election remains in play. If we lose in 2006, it might be all over for a generation.

16. THE most telling reaction came...
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 11:49 AM by Flubadubya
when he was asked about his "unchecked powers"... he reacted in true Shakespearian style as "the guilty thing surprised". I really don't think I have ever seen Bush react to anything as fiercely and defensively as that one. The reason is because unbridled power is ALL he has EVER been after, but he certainly cannot allow that to be exposed to the 'Murkan' people. Thus the violent reaction. :nuke:
