Randi Rhodes tonight on CSPAN was great, and here's why.
I am not a regular listener, only occasionally, but I read lots of DU opinions, pro- and con-.
Tonight, despite the fact that there wasn't enough of her opinions politically, I thought
Randi was 'introduced' to the public that does attend CSPAN. Brian Lamb veered away when politics got too heavy, but Randi shined, and I'll bet she was nervous.
Randi rocked!

2. She was awesome ...
just awesome ...

I find her hard to swallow at times on the radio ... She is so darn well prepared, and knows her stuff, but can make shit up at times, talks over callers and just is a nut at times ...

But, she was just at her best tonight ...

Showed a REAL human element, something you don't see in the waves of conservabots that roll out on TV ... Frankly, you could see Lamb had to hold back from laughing about a dozen times ... You don't see that on C-SPAN ...

5. For me, not a devotee of RR but have heard alot about her,
she was eye-opening, endearing, she's so refreshing, and has studied her stuff. Her tempting with Howard Zinn's "A Peoples' History..." that I had written down as something for myself and my 78 yr old dad, sealed the deal for me.
And she has been out there for years, against Limbaugh, and I didn't even know.

3. she did rock
and she looked good too. Thanks to you for alerting me that she was on. They just interrupted her to go back to that hideous Alaskan oil exploration addition to the arms appropriation bill. How dare they. They should reject it and start over. On This Week, Stephanopolis asked why they couldn't just not pass the bill.
And they said they couldn't for the troops. I'll bet that if they rejected the whole bill, that they would quickly reconsider in the future. I'm not sure of the exact procedure, but I know the way this goes SUCKS!!!

4. They cut her off when she started giving plugs for Air America Radio!!!

And went to congressional debate. (West Coast).

And not once did C-SPAN put on the screen Randi is on Air America Radio (AAR)---Just that she is a "radio talk show host"...

They wanted nothing to do with pluging AAR...However Brian Lamb did his best to ask about AAR...
