Poll question: Before this, did you think the Intelligence Community spied on Americans?
Before it was revealed that Bush allowed the NSA to spy on Americans citizens, did you think that the intelligence community spied on the general public? Honestly, I wasn't surprised and I thought the CIA et al. was actively spying on U.S citizens anyway, though the practice is illegal. The bigger question here is why would Bush reveal this little secret, was he forced to? Did somebody blow the whistle? Per haps they are letting this leak out so that when future instances of the government spying on citizens become known, it won't be as jaw dropping. Americans will become desensitized to the issue, it will become the subject of jokes on late night television, all the while, serious encroachments on all of our civil liberties will be taking place.

2. Yep, had a feeling
Lets just say there has never been anything I would put past this criminal administration, so I had a feeling they probably were.

Factor in their almost obsessive hatred for Democrats, and it was almost a given.

5. "Spot the Stooge"
was a game we in the antiwar movement in the 60s and 70s constantly played. "Hi Honey, the phone's bugged" was how we answered our phones.

We've been here before. Nixon got off with a pardon and don't let the door smack ya in the ass... The only way to stop this stuff is to make one of these bastards face the full consequences.

I don't see it happening, alas.

8. Reminds me of Fahrenheit 911
The cop that infiltrated the peace organization in Fresno. It was real hard to have any sympathy towards the cop after discovering he was a spineless weasel.

7. Of course, but then I'm Indian
I've been suspicious of the government since I was a child. My ancestors lived through Sand Creek. We're used to being lied to and having our rights abused. Russell Means, Dennis Banks and other AIM leaders were friends of my mom. They stayed at our house when they were being infilitrated and investigated. My mom raised money and collected blankets, food and other donations that were sent to help out at the siege in Wounded Knee. If they don't have a file on my family they haven't being doing their job.
