Tookie Williams, CIA, Brent Wilkes, and Gary Webb

While contemplating "Tookie" Williams fate last week, I came across some other related stories that, on the surface, appear disconnected. But a feeling persists in me that they are related - that they speak to what sort of culture America has become. Darkness.

Tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of Gary Webb's "suicide" in Carmichael California, a suburb east of Sacramento and where I call home. I use the quotes around suicide because they say he died from 2 gun shot wounds to the head. Gary Webb wrote a series of articles in 1996 while working at the San Jose Mercury News. The articles detailed how the CIA was involved with massive cocaine smuggling during the Iran-Contra days. The cocaine was shipped to America's inner city communities at cut rate
prices causing the explosion of a drug epidemic and GANG power and expansion.

The Washington Post claimed to debunk Webb and the San Jose Mercury News and began raising doubts about Gary's reporting. He was eventually demoted and later quit. Even though he was later vindicated by two CIA internal investigations documenting even worse crimes by the Agency than were reported on, he was never able to get a significant reporting position again. He was considered tainted by the MSM!

"Tookie" Williams was well placed as co founder of the Crips gang to take full advantage of the flood of CIA-Contra cocaine.

Brent Wilkes, un indicted co-conspirator #1 in the "Duke" Cunningham bribery scandal, was involved with the Iran-Contra finance operation and the cocaine operation through the "World Finance Corp", a shady Agency tool for laundering drug profits.

Brent Wilkes was very generous with donations to powerful Republicans, including Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who rewarded Wilkes with 2 State board appointments.

So,

Gary Webb broke the story of CIA involvement in smuggling massive amounts of cocaine into our inner cities causing a huge increase in gang recruiting and violence.

"Tookie" Williams was head of the Crips gang which was a major distributor of that cocaine.
Brent Wilkes was involved in the Iran-Contra conspiracy including the cocaine smuggling.

1). Gary Webb committed suicide 1 year ago tomorrow by shooting himself in the head "TWICE".

2). "Tookie" Williams will be executed tonight at 12:01 AM. Governor Schwarzenegger announced today he will not commute his sentence.

3). Brent Wilkes remains on 2 California state boards and has yet to be indicted in the bribery scandal.

1. Williams is being executed because he robbed and executed 4 people....

Period, he was tried and convicted for the murder of 4 individuals (2 robberies). The gun used in the killings was found in his home hidden under a friends bed.

To this day Williams has refused to admit his guilt.

To this day Williams has refused to talk about his associates in the Crips or their criminal activities (No, writing childrens books about gang violence doesn't count).

And because of this Williams gets the needle. If, for example, he would have taken REAL responsibility for his actions by not only admitting his guilt but also helping authorities remove other dangerous criminals from the streets of LA.... he'd most likely have gotten his clemency. Unfortunately he did not, even his own clemency petition denies he did the crime but then says he's sorry for what he did. What did you do Mr. Williams? If you didn't do the crime how are you reformed? Doesn't make sense and there is no legal precident for granting clemency when the convict shows no remorse for the crimes he's convicted of.

2. I don't dispute anything in your post. I just think

it's interesting that well placed co-conspirators are still using corrupt practices to steal tax payer dollars to further corrupt america and are not only walking free, but getting NEW positions to rake in MORE tax payer dollars.

4. It's both interesting and sad what you write Ken. If it is all connected

then we have quite a road ahead of us.

It does all seem interesting.

In particular, that Mr. Wilkes was involved in hooking who knows how many people on cocaine, and hes now on two California state boards.

5. The only connection I'm trying to imply is the connection in my heart.

The darkness of the ambition for power. It seemed to even overwhelm Gary Webb. And the fact that the darkest of all, Brent Wilkes, is free to roam and spread his evil. You just get a certain mood when you read all this crap.
