An e-mail I just received about a protest being planned in DC

WCW actions across the country were impressive...but only the
beginning!
If you haven't already done so, go to www.worldcantwait.org and check
out all the reports (including video).
And find out what planned next. In a nutshell it's this:
1) In late January (date to be announced) one hour before resident Bush
gives his State of the Union (or is it State of Emergency?) address,
crowds
around the country will gather to drown him out with music and noise of
all
sorts. (One suggested venue: the local Fox station that will broadcast
the speach.)
2) The following Saturday, a massive demo at the White House in
Washington. Organizers are already on the ground in DC.
The main task for us today is fundraising. $200,000 is needed for a
pull page ad in the New York Times (I JUST HEARD THAT IT'S IN TODAY'S ISSUE,
12/12/05!) and organizing expenses (office and staff, web site, DC
office).
After talking to the NY office of WCW and to Craig in Ft. Lauderdale
(who did so much to build Nov.2 but took a big hit from Wilma), I have
volunteered to coordinate South Florida fundraising. But the premise of
Nov.2 was "drivers wanted" (everyone an organizer) so there's plenty
for
everyone to do. If you're seriously down with the mission of driving
out the
Bush regime donate (or donate again) yourself. But more important: you
all know others who agree with this goal and will support a serious effort
to achieve it. Talk to them - friends, relatives, coworkers, teachers,
etc.
Give then a copy of the mission statement (the original call) or the NY
Times ad (both downloadable). There's lots of good ideas on the
website.
Whatever you collect - and the sooner the better - you can send
yourself to WCW in NYC. Or I can pool it and send it. Either way, please reply to
this message re fundraising or anything else about WCW. And think about a
meeting soon to move this thing forward. When? Where? What's good for you?
