Cheney also never served

So, Al Franken did not serve in the military (“Disappointing ditto head?” letter, Nov. 22)?

I must say Franken is in great company. Vice President Dick Cheney received not one, not two, but five military deferments during the Vietnam War.

1. Very true.

Rep. Murtha has said several times that Cheney never served. He got no less than 5 deferments. Interestingly, I don't believe he finished college.

If people didn't know it before, they do now. All eyes are focused on Cheney. He vanishes as usual for several days, sometimes weeks at a time.

You can run, but you can't hide.

2. The W chikenhawks have no problem in sending our kids to

die. But none of theirs are doing it. Cheney, even said, he had other priorities during Vietnam.
