1. And what does this say about all that security folderol?

Apparently for all the inconvenience we all experience getting on a flight, even the Air Marshals are unpersuaded that it has any effect. They obviously thought that it was not just possible or likely but a dead certainty (you should pardon the expression) that the guy had gotten on the plane with a bomb.

in the current security, than what's the point?

2. We might get to the bottom of it if the family files a multi-million

dollar lawsuit for wrongful death. I'm not big on lawsuits, but had this happened to one of my loved ones, that's exactly what I would do.
