What are Kerry's daughters up to?
One lasting impression I had of last year's election was the contrast between the families of the candidates. On the one hand were the Cheney children, one of whom seemed to be a self loathing gay. Contrasted with the Edwards kids and the older Kaitlin(?) who was a really sharp young lady.
On the presidential candidate side was the spoiled, party happy Bushies. On the other side were the Kerry kids who seemed on their way to accomplishments. I believe the names were Vanessa and - oh I can't remember.
I thought I heard something in passing the other day about Jenna Bush being extra bad at some party (carried out?). Made me wonder what the Kerrys were doing. I trust not partying, but doing something very useful and significant.
Any news?

2. They seem to be doing fine.
At 27, Vanessa Kerry is just setting out on her career. She is enrolled in a master’s program in health policy and international relations in London and then will complete her third year at Harvard Medical School in 2005–2006. (From a 2004 interview.)

Rodale Books today announced its agreement with writer and award-winning filmmaker Alexandra Kerry for a book about the 2004 presidential campaign with her father, Democratic presidential nominee Senator John Kerry to be published in fall 2006. Rodale Books President Tami Booth and Executive Editor Leigh Haber acquired North American rights in a preemptive agreement with Mel Berger of the William Morris Agency. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

From a Nov 29, 2005 PR from Rodale.

They seem to be doing okay and getting on with their lives.

Among the celebrities in this year's race is Vanessa Kerry, daughter of Massachusetts Senator and presidential candidate John Kerry. Kerry, 28, is studying in London on a Fulbright scholarship. She announced to friends via e-mail that she would be running as part of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Marathon Team. Both her parents have been treated for cancer. Among those who have already contributed to Dana Farber in Kerry's name are singer Carole King and Al Gore’s daughter Kristin Gore. Vanessa Kerry is wearing bib number 17553.

5. Jesus CHRIST!
would you please not encourage me to get my fevered mind on the Gore sisters. If they could count in Flordia just IMAGINE what rock stars they would have been. They cause me to think terribly impure thoughts!
