NJ Senate '06 Menendez has 38-34 percent edge over Kean
Most voters don't know enough about either candidate to make a decision.

Rep. Robert Menendez is the man that Gov-elect Jon Corzine is selecting to take his seat in the Senate. State Senator Tom Kean, Jr. is the son of the former very popular governor of NJ, Tom Kean.

Menendez: 38%
Kean: 34%
Undecided: 25%

27% have a favorable opinion of Menendez and 24% have an unfavorable opinion.
35% have a favorable opinion of Kean while 16% have an unfavorable (I think these are the key numbers and I wonder how many people are mistaking Kean, Jr. for Kean, Sr?)

Acting Gov. Richard Codey who apparently didn't want it--has a 59-16 percent fav/unfav rating.

1. Kean has a higher favorable rating but Menedez is leading in the poll?
is the the result of name recognition?
