Where do Congressmen get off calling American citizens liars?

Why are we not talking about this more? Why are there not 25 different threads each day about Congressman Shays and Congressman Miller calling American citizens liars to their faces?

Well I am starting a new thread today. Because I am still outraged. Read what they said here:

3. they are racists pure and simple

of course they won't admit that even to themselves.
But I've also noticed that even here there are people who "don't believe" many of the survivors either. And not to bring up the Holocaust again, BUT people refused to believe the stories coming out of the camps then also. Some of the worst horrors have taken place because people found them too horrible to believe.

In the case of these Senators, I say they are true racists because the evidence is there for them to examine.

4. My letters to Congress

To Shays:
"How dare you accuse these hurricane victims of lying? The abuses by the police and others are well documented. Have these people not suffered enough for you yet?"

To Miller:
"How dare you minimize the experience of the hurricane victims? The abuses by the police and others are well documented. The neglect of duty by FEMA and by the Army Corps of Engineers (due to GOP-sponsored budget cuts) was so serious that it resulted in thousands of deaths. Have these people not suffered enough for you yet?"

Davis blocks e-mail from anybody outside his district. Anybody got an addy for him, or a zip code in his district, to get past the filter?

To my Rep (Jim Moran, (D) VA-8)
"Dear Representative Moran,
I know you have supported the efforts of Katrina victims to rebuild their lives, and the efforts to prevent the horrible abuse and neglect they suffered at the hands of their local and federal governments from re-occurring. I am saddened to report to you that two of your fellow members have only continued and worsened the abuse by adding insult to injury. I urge you to speak against Rep. Shays accusing them of lying in their testimony, and Rep. Miller minimizing their descriptions of the "concentration camp" conditions in the Superdome.
