Holiday greetings from the troops
Does your local news do these?
Taped clips of service members overseas saying holiday greetings to their loved ones back home.

The one I just saw was a female soldier sending greetings to her 3 grandkids.
"Grandma will be home soon, kids"

What a sobering moment of surreality.

2. Yes, and in years past, the networks and cables have done them, too
They're heartbreaking. It's tough enough to spend the holidays away from family, and that happens often enough in military life, but under these brutal circumstances, it is, indeed, sobering.

5. It really made me feel like crying
How did we get to this point of soldiers doing 4 combat tours and grannies fighting a bogus oil war?

4. Folks in low-pay jobs once looked to the NG as a great 2nd job
No longer.
