Summer 2005 Update: Mark has uped his game and is currently ranked 5th by AICE. Some of his resent accomplishments include: The Great American Chicken Wing Eating Title, and several other near misses for national titles in pastrami, corn on the cob, italian sausage and italian sub. Also hot on the media trail, Mark has recently been interviewed by several major Ohio newspapers. Congratulations to The Vacuum on his recent conquest of 3 two-pound beanie burgers (only the 2nd person to accomplish this feat).

Here is a picture of him.

1. six pounds of Beanie Burgers?
I feel ill. How can he possibly hold that much food, the sheer volume must be pretty large?

3. One of these days, some loon will rupture his gut
and that will be the end of the disgusting spectacle of competitive gluttony, probably to be replaced with something equally obnoxious.

I was expecting to see a real fattie, but he looks (gasp!) normal.

7. Yes he does......
He eats normal, works out regularly as he is aware of the high risk of getting fat. He stretches his tummy by drinking water.....I'm amazed in all honesty.

8. Why be amazed?
The human body is not just amazing, it can adapt to more circumstances than we can understand. I'm surprised that people can survive years of physical torture and deprivation; I'm amazed that little kids can be beaten every day of their short lives and not die.

In Philadelphia, we have a big competitive eating event, the Wing Bowl. The local cham-peen is a guy who calls himself El Wingador. He's a hefty man. But he's been bested by a 95-pound Chinese woman. I kid you not.

Strething one's stomach by drinking water isn't exactly a good idea. I mean, getting rid of lots of sodium by washing it out might be a Good Thing, but losing all that potassium and magnesium couldn't be good.
