AP: Anti-gay group scolds bank
Anti-gay group scolds bank

Associated Press
LA Daily News

DENVER - The conservative Christian group Focus on the Family says it is withdrawing its funds from Wells Fargo because of the bank's support of gay organizations.

(snip)

The statement does not say how much money the group had deposited with Wells Fargo. Calls were not returned Saturday from the group's Colorado Springs headquarters to those who left messages requesting further information.

Chris Hammond, a vice president of business development for Wells Fargo & Co., the nation's fifth largest bank in assets, said the bank provided a $50,000 grant to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. He said the bank did not, however, agree to match contributions as GLAAD had advertised and Focus criticized.

"That being said, we do support many communities, and we're proud to be a diverse organization," said Hammond, acknowledging that some donations go to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender groups.

My wife, pretty decent on politics, but with some shitty views just hates the idea of gay marriage and anything that seemingly promotes gay people.

I take the pro-gay position and after exhausting every argument I have I just come back with...Why don't we just leave them alone to live their lives how they want? It's not of our damn business. I'm still mixed on the gay marriage thing...I see both sides I guess, but in the end if gays were allowed to get married I wouldn't care and it wouldn't bother me and the sanctity of my own marriage wouldn't be affected in any way, shape, or form. The only thing that affectst the sanctity of my marriage is how ME and MY WIFE treat it and not what two women or two men are doing that I may not even know.

5. I'm glad I'm not straight...
If I was, I wouldn't have had what little I ever did get.

Maybe that's why God created me gay. God knew, with my personality, I'd otherwise be single forever and that even 2.95 months is better than nothing.
