Damn it!! US aggression will not end until a DRAFT with no loopholes is

Not until the sons and daughters of Congress and administration officials are forced to serve or leave the country to avoid the draft will the US stop pre-emptive and non-emptive aggression. Sorry DUers. I was against the draft initially but all this talk about bombing Iran and taking on NK and our illegal actions in Iraq has changed my mind.

take notice. When the kids on the college campus finally have something to lose, then we'll see some action. By them and their parents.

I don't think they would care much because I don't think it would make a difference to them. No loop holes would only mean there would be none for the average kid.

again gives a hint of how fair a new conscription law will be. In this day of computers, what possible purpose will local draft boards serve other than to determine exemptions for locals?

You might be right; but I would still oppose the draft. For one thing, if we could get Congress to write a draft with no loopholes for their kin, we could get Congress to do anything, so why not just impeach President Bush instead?

So I gotta assume that the draft will have loopholes. This will wake up the middle class and the working class mainly becausee, as is traditional, their class will bear a disproportionate amount of the burden.

6. Stop loss and the call up of the ready reserve are precursors

to the draft. Both result in compulsory military service against the will of the soldier.

And the time is getting near. Yesterday Murtha said the US couldn't supply commanders in Iraq with extra brigades even if they were requested, because they don't exist.
