DU puts the ads front and center :-)

so now every time I click back to the "discuss" page the flashing ad sits there alone in the middle of the screen, front and center, and there is a delay while the ad is featured.

certainly I have seen nothing that up front in web sites I usually go to. sad that when I tried to donate during the "pledge" drive I couldn't get the thing to process my credit card. oh well.

syriana must be spending big bucks on the internet as well as flooding the TV stations.

The Syriana ad is in the center until the page loads, then it moves over to the left. Doesn't bother me at all. Ad revenue is a good thing. :)

This doesn't happen by design. You can probably see the same thing on Atrios or Kos occasionally.

4. I think that's more a function of your browser loading the page

in increments. Mine does the same thing (Netscape 7.1) but also with many other pages, and not just ads.

8. That's odd...

... as of late last night, mine stopped loading the page in increments and now doesn't display the page until everything is loaded. And, the blogads aren't there--just the "advertise liberally" graphic at the top left.

I thought it was a change made by the administrators. I haven't made any change to the browser settings, either. It's not happening with other pages as they load, so I figured it had to be DU.

but I really do not mind it at all. It is quite nice actually to have more income for the site and I have bought a couple of things that I might not have known about if the ads had not been here. A book, in fact two and my Flying Spaghetti Monster medallion for my truck.
