I don't understand Ray Taliaferro's technique of argument

Whenever a right wing caller calls up frothing at the mouth, screaming, Ray will calmly ask him questions and calmly tell him that he is wrong.

But then when a right wing caller calls up very calmly articulating a conservative argument, Ray will just go batshit insane, as he did earlier this hour. I had to actually turn down my speakers because of Ray's yelling.

I wonder if this is a technique of radio talk show hosts, to keep adversarial callers off balance.

off balance anyway. Ray is like all of us...he has his 'hot buttons' just like we do. Part of his approach is pure show biz. He appeals greatly to those of us who have listened to him for years...from Mexico to Alaska. Now, with the net broadcasts...the world is starting to follow Ray.

When he goes softly against a caller...we all know that there is a fool on the other end of the conversation.

You may as well ask...why does Rush go on as he does. Rush did manage to graduate from high school.

Ray, like most talk-show hosts, has a formula that works for him.
