What would be the reaction if Bush did drop a bomb on Syria or Iran ?
Would it be unpatriotic to say anything against it? Would it be just a "small nuclear weapon" used for defensive purposes? What would be your reaction? What would be the reaction of this Congress? Would any have the balls to disagree? How would the rest of the world react? Is this a totally unreal scenario?

1. I think Bush would find himself standing alone, very alone.
Not that he isn't crazy enough to do it.

2. Nothing here as MSM would play it down big time, like they do with Iraq..
however, what the Iranians would do is anyones'guess right now, if they have the Bomb and can deliver it to a target.

3. The only unreal scenario
would be if Bush wasn't overwhelmed by condemnation from the ends of the earth in such a case.

"Would any have the balls to disagree?" Oh please...

4. Totally unreal?
Has anything with this administration been totally unreal, even though it goes against every moral teaching most of us have had ingrained in us from our earliest days? Would it be unpatriotic to speak against it? It would be immoral not to speak against bombing Syria. What would Congress do? Who knows what they would do--but I would hope that they would start immediate impeachment proceedings--possibly telling BushCo they were under House arrest. The rest of the world would be saying, see, we told you they were crazy.

6. oh a prayer
As, the ripples of karma of a nuclear explosion invite short and long
term strategic retaliation, i would PRAY, that egotists keep their wits.
But i imagine a total retaliation, 2 submarines suprise launch 10
ballistic missiles at the united states, each missile with a 50 megatonne
device.

New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Sandiego, Boston,
Washington, Chigago, Denver, Galveston petroleum port

And those 10 nukes would be in proportional retaliation for the 10 nukes
the US used. And after that, would we launch 10 more nukes to prove
we're men, or would we agree to a mutual stand down?

Or maybe the bush administration miscalculates how seriously the asian
powers would see the use of nuclear weapons on asian soil.

7. I think people would finally realize he was cuckoo for cocoa puffs
Esp. if he had to institute the draft. Add to that if Iraq goes to hell, I think people would finally think he'd gone nuts.

But imagine if that's the reason they're talking about getting some of the troops out of Iraq.

8. First, Puffy McMoonface would deny that a bomb had been dropped.
Then, the Talking Points Elves would all chime in with various "even if it WERE true, not saying that it IS true, but IF..." scenarios.

Then, Condoleeza Rice would acknowledge that some low level strikes did take place due to intelligence reports that al Queda cells were uncovered, and so forth.

9. Good questions ...
I don't believe it would be unpatriotic to say anything against it. Just like I don't believe it is unpatriotic to say anything against Bush's Iraq war.

My reaction would be one of furious frustration no matter what the size of the bomb. I don't think the US should use a nuclear weapon period, yet alone in a preemptive strike. How can we tell Korea or Iran that they can not have nukes if the US uses them, or has them for that matter. I would probably be in Washington in a heart beat for another March, and this time I wouldn't be afraid to be arrested if necessary.

I think the reaction of congress would be much the same. I think there would be a lot of congressmen on both sides of the aile in furious disagreement.

In my opinion I think the Islamic world would become strongly united to destroy the United States no matter what the cost. It would make 9/11 look like a cake walk. The rest of the world would also be outraged. I'm sure there would be riots all over the globe. and possibly hear in the US as well. I think China would jump in and say enough is enough. It would probably send us into Armageddon. It scares the crap out of me, because somehow I think Bush thinks he was put on this earth to fulfill the prophecy of the end days.

He just might do it.

i went thru this w. reagan, being in fear all the time because an obvious alzheimer's patient had a finger on the button, the missiles were launched five minutes ago and all that, i now realize the powers that be knew everything that i knew abt his lack of a brain & that he was just a figurehead

whoever controls bush does not profit from thermonuclear destruction of the planet

he ain't gonna drop the bomb on syria or iran, the real leaders of our country, crown prince abdullah and karl rove figure it's bad for bidness
