OMG...John Murtha....

John Murtha just gave the most powerful speech on CNN that I've ever seen. He's visited the hospitals and the mental wards. He is telling the American people exactly what damage this war is doing to us.

I hope everyone will get to see what he said. It's the most incredible and honest discussion of the Iraqi war I've seen to date.

6. he is calling for the immediate removal of Iraq troops
pull them all out within the next sixth months. Hard for the republicans to challenge this because he is a former marine and is not the type to cut and run

7. Murtha has been in Congress since '74.

He was just given about 10 minutes on CNN to lay out exactly how he sees the situation. Murtha is an ex-colonel in the Army or something, and is very respected by the military, etc.

He criticised Bush 2 by comparing him to his father. He said George W. won't even hear dissenting opinions, unlike his father who at least listened to people.

He talked about the economic costs of the war, the effect its having on our equipment, the incredible cost of replacing this equipment (for which there is no budget). Murtha talked about oil, but I missed a great deal of that.

He just talked on SO MANY ISSUES AND LAID IT ON THE LINE!! Even to the point of saying that the justification for the war has been discreditied - point blank.

A very stark, honest speech. DON'T MISS IT!

4. i agree, one of the most powerful, i was almost in tears
he is one of the best speakers i have heard out of congress. This might be sad but it sounds like the West Wing, haha. He got his points out better than any democrat has on the war. He is respected and such a great man.

15. There's no greater "Support the Troops" advocate in the House than Murtha.
The Repiglickers will choke on their bile attempting to demean his position.
