politics of a mentally challenged person
I am dyslexic, and only started getting into politics during the great injustice if you can guess what that event is (hint: synonym for shrub) and i have vary little knowledge about a number of subjects that i keep seeing on boards and what not, is their any specific subjects you would recommend me looking up and reading over? to help add to my knowledge of politics.

My current board I'm arguing on is one that really got way off topic (I use the same name) http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?t=1775&start=0

1. Welome to DU, envirus
Is dyslexia the same thing as being mentally challenged? I didn't think it was. If you want a brief run-down of what DU is about, you can probably start with Latest Breaking News (LBN). People post important, timely headlines there and others post replies. You can sort of get the collective personality of DU there. Also, take a look at the rules for posting; that will help you avoid starting flamewars, etc.

How did you find DU?

5. not quite sure
I'm not to sure if it is actually a mental condition, in early school I was removed from class and put in another class to learn stuff I "should have" learned a year or two before, so there's a bunch of stuff I missed out on, which explains my bad spelling at times.

I learned about DU because my dad(also vary much a democrat) goes here, I don't think he is registered though, maybe (DNO or ErazorHead is his usual screen names) I try to keep up with the news and what not but I always come across people referencing things that I haven't heard yet, but seem pretty common knowledge

2. Wikipedia
It's up to date, informative and for the most part neutral. I am only 19 so I look to Wikipedia for reference about a lot of things.

PS-- I am dsylexic too, don't worry about it and I can kick an RW's ass in a debate.

6. Hi, that looks like a pretty interesting board
Some of what you're saying over there is a bit over my head, but I agree that evolution may be a theory, but there are aspects of it that are pretty irrefutable. I like this quote that I saw on the thread that you linked to:
"66 percent of Americans believe George Bush is doing a poor job with Iraq. The other 34 percent believe Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs to church."

9. The articles on the DU homepage...
...can be a lifesaver. Since I'm not from the US (I'm a Brit in NZ) I sometimes find people getting exited over issues or names I have no idea about (Woodward? Who he?), but a flick through those threads & articles usually clears things up. A little, at least. :)

Enjoy...
