DU Lawyers: Could a class action suit be filed against O'Reilly and Fox
if O'Reilly does publish a list against mediamatters or thinkprogress or anyone he claims to be his enemy? O'Reilly needs to be stopped. He is increasingly encouraging violence against US citizens and is getting really bad.

Can SF sue them for encouraging a terrorist attack? Is there anything in the Patriot Act that defines actions such as O'Reilly as terrorits treats?

2. Criminal investigation for inciting terrorism would be appropriate.
He might not love that kind of attention.

5. it should be taking seriously. Can you imagine if he continues and create
copy cat who really mean it, but people ignore them 'cause of so many crying wolf?

Or yet, allowing anyone to get away with inciting the anhilation of an entire city? What if an anti-government crazy person does take him seriously and goes up and blows something up?

It shouldn't only be taken seriously, it should prosecuted...If it had been an Arab, the RWers would be all over the place calling for Patriot Act and everything else thrown to that person...

9. We don't act like the RWers. We respect the First Amendment, even if the
thing being said is stupid.

12. What if someone on his list is attacked & killed?
Or other violence is done - this is a very dangerous precedent. Action must be ready to be taken...

11. He MUST be investigated for this outrageous statement...
And publishing names of people to "punish" them is slander as well. This is going to get ugly, I can tell...

3. Wouldn't the Patriot Act come in to play?
Poetic justice. A right wing moron constrained by anti-constitutional measures promoted by a right wing government which hates the constitution.

And yes, there IS justice in this world.

10. Nope.. he would just claim to be "an entertainer"
and that he was just "spouting off" for 'effect"..

13. Didn't some people try this with Limbaugh a few years back?
He claimed he was an entertainer and he's still on the air. The best way to deal with O'Reilly is not to listen to him. Just send him an email stating that.

because somewhere between protecting free speech and being abused ON OUR OWN AIRWAVES, there must be a solution.

God, I hope my nieces didn't hear that clip. :(

Words matter. As I know you know.
