Why have Bush's poll numbers dropped like a rock in the last two weeks?
I think it is because the Democrats got a backbone and starting criticizing his incompetent ass. If they say something controversial, the press will report it. Granted, this has been an excellent target to shoot at. We have to pick and choose sometimes and when these assholes screw up like this, we have to be vocal about it. We can't depend on the press to report it if we don't lead the opposition. If we stop criticizing and start playing "footsie" and bipartisanship games again, his polls will go back up, because they know how to play the game. We have to keep the heat on Bush and Company because that is how they play the game. We have to show them that we can play that game also.And that is the only reason his polls have dropped in the last two weeks, IMO...

1. Another point is the soldiers in Iraq.

Mike Malloy just recapped a CNN soldier's family member interview from this am.....They are pissted off, both the soldiers and families. Then the CNN photo of the deceased soldier being covered-up with a tarp had real impact. Then word about the 5 reported suicides.......

It all has a long and lasting impression. Once you offend someone as *bush is doing....people don't forget. Example; employees remember like an elephant when a boss pisses them off, the grudge remains and you talk about it to others as well.

*bush's poll numbers will plument. Even if they find WMD by Christmas no one will be jumping in the streets. They remember the pain they are reckoning with now. Support our dem's with spine and keep up the heat......It has power.....

3. Finally his lying has been publicized
I don't watch television much but while coming home from a concert on Friday night we stopped at a business with the television on. The news story was all about how Bush went to war under false pretenses. I almost started cheering.

4. Well, it can't be because of Bush lying his ass off or anything
I mean, his statement was "technically" true.

But I like your point, Kentuck. When we fight, we win. Huh. Who woulda thunk it? When we fight, we win.

Because we've certainly seen what happens when Democrats lie down for this corrupt administration.

6. One reason and one reason alone
The media (esp. TV) has presented just a small sliver of the truth about him.

I find it frightening, actually, in both directions: how much the media, by their complicity, has propped him up all this time, and how quickly he has fallen when just a small part of the truth is revealed. It all points to the awesome power of the broadcast and cable news outlets. It's downright scarey.

7. It is scary, Eloriel...
That they have that type of power. That is why the best we can hope for is for them to report the "he said, she said" type of stories from the two major political parties. It is so much easier and fairer in their minds if they report the responses to the issues of the day, be if from the Democrats or from the Repubs. Unfortunately for many of the good Democratic responders, they have been minimized thru years of neglect by our Party. We need our Party leaders up front challenging every major speech and position of the Republicans - that is what an opposition Party has to do in this day and age. Otherwise, we will be run over by Republican media machine.

9. All things considered... the man is a fraud.
It was a weak case for the war, he bolstered with lies, got caught.

Our Military People over there not taken care of properly;

daily casualties;

Global Hate level for America gone thru the roof;

Domestic Econ in shambles,

all this and more added to the questional path to the white house weighs heavy on bushes ass. he is a wounded duck. Some would even say, lame.
