That was the #1 item on the bogus bill of goods that BushCo sold the country, in order to begin an illegal war against Iraq.

So what if Bush's definition of 'everybody' did believe that Saddam had WMD's? There's a big difference between some dictator having wet dreams about nukes and actually having the ability to build and deliver one. But no, Bush, Cheney, Condi, Rummie and the rest of the WH claimed that Saddam had a laundry list of materials. He had bio/chem weapons by the ton. Condi, the National Security Adviser had seen the intel that we don't ever get to see and assured us that Saddam's next response could be in the form of a mushroom cloud. We couldn't wait because the threat was so imminent. We could not wait for the UN Weapons Inspectors to finishing doing their job, despite the fact that they were telling us that they couldn't find anything. Despite the fact that what Saddam did have, was under UN Control and so out of date that most of it was no longer usable.

That's the big LIE. Not whether or not Saddam had WMD's or would like to have WMD's. The big LIE is that Saddam had WMD's NOW and we could not wait a second longer, he had to be stopped NOW.

So here we are 3+ years later. 2000+ US Troops dead, 100,000+ Iraqi civilians dead. 10,000's more disabled for life. Iraq is in a shambles. Suicide bombings are a daily event. For what? Why? Because Bush had a jones for starting a war and there was nothing and no one that could stop him? No matter what Bush tries to claim now. No matter who he tries to blame. Even if Bush had to LIE through his teeth to get the war going, we were going to go to war.
