LOL Santorum Just Got Slammed on Primetime as "Hypocrite"
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 11:14 PM by UTUSN
They showed doctors marching in protest over "lawsuit abuse" in favor of caps on damages. And Ricky was a featured speaker at their ralley attacking "lawsuit abuse".

Then "imagine our surprise when we found out that (SANTORUM's wife) had sued a chiropractor for DOUBLE the amount" of what Ricky championed in the Senate.

Cynthia McFADDEN couldn't get Ricky to give her an interview, so she ambushed him at a book signing! She confronted him with the case and his double dealing. He said HIS WIFE has the right to pursue things IN HER OWN NAME. Cynthia said, "But YOU TESTIFIED in her case, saying that she suffered physical and emotional pain, that YOU had to carry the laundry baskets up the stairs..."

BWAHAHAHAAH!

2. It was awesome!!!
I try to avoid shows like that in general. But I may have to check out Primetime more often in support of that one.

Short piece, but in just a few minutes showed him for the hypocrite he is.

Hope the West Coasters will remember to catch it.

Sen. Santorum's wife wins lawsuit
Saturday, December 11, 1999

By Jack Torry, Post-Gazette National Bureau

WASHINGTON -- A Virginia jury last night awarded the wife of Sen. Rick Santorum $350,000 in damages after she charged in a lawsuit that a Virginia chiropracter's negligence caused her permanent back pain.

Deliberating more then six hours after a four-day trial in which Santorum, R-Pa., testified, the Fairfax County Circuit Court jury unanimously ruled for Karen Santorum. She had sought $500,000 against Dr. David Dolberg of Virginia, because of pain from his 1996 treatment of her.

MYTHBUSTER!

SEN. RICK SANTORUM - CIVIL JUSTICE HYPOCRITE

No one likes a hypocrite. Yet one would be hard pressed to find a worse hypocrite in the U.S. Senate than Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.).

Senator Santorum has repeatedly supported limits on the rights of patients injured by medical malpractice, attacking those who sue and the trial lawyers who represent them. As recently as April 14, Santorum pleaded with a group of doctors to “focus on senators” to lobby for legislation to cap non-economic compensation to $250,000.

But in December 1999, Santorum and his wife not only secured the services of a trial lawyer, but went on to sue Mrs. Santorum’s chiropractor for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Sen. Santorum even testified in the lawsuit, saying his wife should be compensated for the pain and suffering caused by her botched spine adjustment, which had upset her ability to join him on the campaign trail.

Santorum's Medical Malpractice Hypocrisy
Jun 9, 2005
By: Phil Singer, DSCC

Santorum Has Consistently Supported Capping Non-Economic Damages in Medical Malpractice Lawsuits at $250,000. In 2004 and 2003, Santorum voted in support of capping medical malpractice non-economic damages at $250,000. In 1994, Santorum sponsored the Comprehensive Family Health Access and Savings Act that would have capped non-economic damages at $250,000.

10. His wife is a lawyer, an R.N, and mother of 6 kids. I think having 6 kids
--carrying 6 kids, 6 pregnancies might have an effect on your back. Being a lawyer too--priceless.

18. She also sued because she got too fat to be seen in public
"...because she suffered humiliation from weight gain, she no longer had the confidence to help him on the campaign trail. "

21. you forgot she couldn't work
so lost wages too..

Doesn't her husband's money supplement her time out of work watching the kids? In comparison to Pa spouses were if one spouse is out of work they are on the verge of loosing their house.

This asshole voted against raising the min wage up to 6.00 over 5 years. I can't express the rage I feel over this guy. He disgusts me.

25. Amazing...she works and manages to homeschool her kids
that is truly a great feat...

Personally I doubt she works, unless she has some "title" for some corporate board in order to help funnel more cash into the Santorum household.

11. Add this to his hypo list
Why is he NOT slamming Scooter's book? Mr. man-on-dog himself? The book has all the points sen. m-o-d and others of the 'moral/family values' ilk rail about. Or is he waiting for the movie so he can slam hollywood?

12. Same thing happened in Texas with our current AG.
Ol' Greg Abbott was seriously and permanently injured in an accident where a tree fell on him while he was jogging. He received a large settlement. To this day he uses a wheelchair for mobility. However, he came out solidly for "tort reform" here in Texas. More evidence of the mindset of the modern Republican: "I got mine, fuck you."

16. The whole Primetime program was great tonight!
I check every week to see what they're doing, but most of the time I don't watch it. The segment about Santorum was politically priceles, but the first segment about the crank phone calls to fast food places scared the shit out of me!

Hope Santorum wasn't wearing his wife's robe and slippers when he had to carry the laundry basket up the stairs for her. No wonder he tried to have the court records sealed.

23. First off, I bet ya her back problems came from pregnancy
or just plain old getting old...

Second, I would not have gone to a chiropractor if I had a bad back. (I went to a Neurosurgeon for mine and he recommended PT instead of back surgery..which has helped me)

Third, What weight gain are they talking about? Karen Santorum has had a number of children with pRicky boy. There is one thing that will definitely widen your ass and put on the pounds...and that is pregnancy...and to be honest she looks rather thin in all the photos they showed of her...even the one where she is pregnant...

Fourth, pRicky and his wife are hypocrites.
