16. You can be subtle and follow all the posting rules and still be

banned. I had lurked for a long time just to try to get some idea of how they think and why they take the positions they do. I like to look at an issue from all sides before I make up my mind. Then I decided to sign up and joined in a few discussions that were not really heated and in which I actually agreed with some of the long time, more moderate members. I wasn't trying to make waves. I followed their guidelines (I am generally polite and non-confrontational by nature) and posted occasionally for about three months. Then one day, I happened to mention here at DU that I posted to FreeRepublic. Within 48 hours my posting privileges had been suspended with no explanation. So, I'm back to lurking status again, but I have noticed that lately, most of the posters seem to be from the extreme right with just a sprinkling of moderate voices. Even the "rabid rightwingers" are voicing criticism of Bush these days.
