6. MSNBC said that he's being used by the GOP...
..."to repair their tarnished image."

This was said in a promo for tonight's "Scarborough Country," so anyone interested can tune in for more details.

12. will this thing be televised live? and if so why?
why should a speech by mccain get any more attention than say kerry's recent speech about iraq?

17. For the reason that MSNBC gave...
...apparently, the GOP thinks that having McCain as their spokesperson will repair their image because he's so well loved by Republicans AND Democrats.

So they poosition his script-reading as "news" or "an important update" and they get airtime.

DAMNED "liberal media!"

:sarcasm:

Have some more cake, John.

21. Sorry, this is not on topic.
But after seeing Scarborough Country, and reading another thread that said Santorum was an 18% underdog, I was wondering what will Fox call Santorum's show. They wouldn't call it The Santorium, would they?

...fast enough for him. McCain is a Republican whack job.

15. I want to know why John Kerry's speech about Iraq was not given
the same attention as this one from Mc Cain? John Kerry's Georgetown University speech contained an update on the situation in Iraq, a well though out plan, an apology and a call to bring 20,000 troops home after the December vote.
What do you all think McCain's speech will have in it? My guess is the same crap about saying there is necessary and they he will go on and on about the torture bill he has been working on. He does one thing and he has to have it blasted all over the news. What a egotistical ugly man.

19. Even more interesting.
They are both giving speeches today. McCain outside the Senate, Kerry within. I wonder if Hagel will give one soon. (These are the last of the Vietnam vets currently serving in the Senate, right?)

Curiouser and curiouser. McCain was not for withdrawal and was a hard-ass on 'staying the course' lest we show weakness. Hagel was actually more pliable on certain points than McCain. This could get real interesting. (The Dems should line up more speakers. We need to hear from Feingold again. Levin spoke up about this. Harry Reid addressed Iraq last week and this, I think. It is starting to look as though there is a real battle to be joined here.)

25. Could be, "Stay the course, even though the course is crooked."
McCain must still be pissed at the way Bush trashed him in South Carolina in 2000 election.
