1. You know, the Freepers are thinking you've hit upon a really
good idea. They are wondering how such intelligence made its way onto a forum site populated by morans.

8. Not sure what Catholic school you attended - but mine was pretty liberal.
Despite the daily beatings received by the class clowns (I had more than my share), we were taught that most of the OT was symbolic and not to be taken literally.

In fact, in HS we learned as much about other religions as our own - something you would not expect to receive from the christian taliban in this country.

I was really just repeating the common stereotype of Catholic school as a joke, however, my experience there was pretty lousy. So lousy, that by 6th or 7th grade I was tortured out of believing in God at all, let alone one of the two creation stories in the bible. ;)

6. I recall it as a torturous experience
Being non-Christian as a child in the midwest. We're definitely tortured into allowing the faith to take the lead, take the moral high ground, we learn to admit to defeat by not fighting. Oh, well yes, of course you're Christian, it's the only thing to be. What they thought could be described by one word, and what I thought could not, and somehow that meant my opinions were "wrong".

Funny, I reached a point in adulthood where I didn't feel hateful about Christians anymore. Now, the more "they" push their beliefs into our laws, and stand with each other even though so many say they don't agree with "all of it", it's done more to damn Christians in my eyes than anything else. Isn't it funny?

It was bad enough when they were ruinous of my life. It's far damned far worse to ruin my nation.

Where is the massive Christian movement AGAINST Bush?? As the vast majority of them now know they should be??? Where friggin is it, they've got the numbers, they've got the communication, they could if they friggin want to, they do this shit for FUN for goodness sake. We could EASILY see a big Christian push against Bush the Murder. They don't. Why the hell not?

the church on the right has deemed gays sinners, ergo we do not have to protect their rights, and we put discrimination into our state constitution saying a religion can decide who is christian and who is not. that that is christian can pass for law, for all of us to follow

if the church deems democrats to not be christian, we can deny the dem rights. the church has said out loud, democrats are not christian
