I'm a Troop and I don't want to listen to Rush!!!!

Excuse me Senator "I'm a jerk-off", I am a 21 year Navy Veteran. I'm not deployed now, but when I am, I have to listen to AFRTS. It's not an option, it's all that is offered us. The only "effing" reason this "drug addicted, anal cysted, thrice divorced, paragon of 'family values', chicken-hawk" is on AFRTS is because he carries the water for this mis-administration and the Republican Party.

But AFRTS is not the only thing that is "effed" up. Our entire broadcast network is "effed" up. There are two major AM talk radio stations in the area I'm stationed. Until we recently got Ed Schultz, I could not even get a traffic or weather report without first hearing about what "a low-life, communist, treasonous, socialist, terrorist sympathizing, un-American, deserve to be in prison, godless, liberal, French surrender monkey" I am.

Here is what they consider balance, for example: From 1200-1500 on one station I have "mega-dildos". On the other, I have "I'm really a Democrat, but I support everything the neo-cons do, and write for NEWSMAX" Tammy Bruce.

Now! I guess I do have a choice. But choosing between those two shows is like choosing to poke my eye out with a hot poker, or a sharp stick.

On AFRTS, you have Rush, Dr. Laura, and Jim Dobson!!! It's great isn't it??? A drug addicted chickenhawk, a stripper, and a child-abuser. Glad to see AFRTS is soooooo concerned about family values.

Hard to believe isn't it? I thought all us Active Duty and retired guys were knuckle-dragging staunch supporters of the godly republican party. In a related matter, I listened to limbaugh back in the 80's and early 90's when I was relatively apolitical. My goal was to make Chief, fuck politics. But the more I listened to that asshole the more liberal I became. Thanks rush, I hope you are having the same effect on my shipmates overseas. And dobson, what a great fucking christian that monster is. I listen to his crap for about five minutes a day. That's all it takes.

I too listen to Rush for about 5 minutes a day. It's the only way I can catch the 1500 traffic report. Believe me, in the Norfolk area, traffic reports are IMPORTANT! :rofl:

You see it at most military installations, especially at the Officer level. Walk into any Ready Room, or CO's Office, and 9 out of 10 times, the TV is glued to Faux News.

I came up through the enlisted ranks to earn a commission, so I have a different perspective on service than some Citadel or Academy graduate does.

I was driving to the post office and an older gentleman, a veteran (I know this from his license plate), was driving in front of me. On his car he had these bumperstickers:
-a "Colorado Democrat" bumpersticker
-a "Kerry/Edwards" bumpersticker
-a very faded bumpersticker with a number of words but I could only make out "Democrat" in large print
-and, this is the coolest, a Kerry/Edwards sign on the top of his car... similar to the things pizza delivery cars or taxis have on top. Very prominent. Good for him for not taking it off after the election.

I usually only see "W '04" stickers on the older veterans' cars.

I also saw a few cars with bumperstickers saying "Take back America" and a donkey on them. All this on a military base where I don't normally see many political bumperstickers at all except for the occassional "W '04" (and those usually on the old people's cars).

a majority would rather watch a stripper than listen to Rush's drivel. You made me remember my first cruise back in 1984. There was a documentary out that was simply called; "Strippers". It was run so many times on our CCTV System that I was able to memorize the "dialog".

Of course this was before woman on combat ships. But I bet if they balanced it with the Chippendale Dancers, the ladies would get with the program too.

Last year while in Korea I was in hell, away from family and stuck with Rush on AFRTS...drove me batty! Thankfully AFRTS only carried one long painful hour of the Chickenhawk show and it was followed by two hours of NPR, Morning Edition....That always struck me funny because it was night in Korea when Morning Edition was playing...Those CHickenhawks Repukes on the various radio shows make me nuts....I can't stand hearing their blather and slamming Dems, or anything other than their Repuke buddies.
