Everyone bashing Bush at the pool in my Republican area.....
I live in Naples Florida and I used to find a couple of people who would rip up Bush along with me. They would be sort of be scared to talk about it - for fear of being overheard by others. I have to admit I've become sort of infamous in my community for talking politics. I decided to sort of "tone" it down a bit because a few people have gotten royally ticked off at me - and a few have started to even avoid me.

The last few times I've gone down there - almost EVERYONE has gone out of their way to come up to me and bring up politics. These were the same people who would change the subject or sort of slink away when I'd bring it up.

Yesterday, one of my fellow Bush-bashers started to loudly bash Bush. Several other people started to chime in - including a few who used to be semi-Bush supporters. Virtually every person was either agreeing with him or smiling at least. I actually couldn't even get a word in edgewise.

This was in front of two women who I know are two Bush supporters. When I glanced at them - I saw that they looked totally shocked that there were so many people attacking him. These two women had said to me last week that they were tired of Amercians being so politically correct with regards to toture (they thought it was perfectly fine)and that we ought to just blow up the entire middle east. They said that they were afraid that the Arabs were going to take over this country and force us to wear burkas.

1. Funny. I'm more worried about Republicans forcing us to wear Burqas.

3. Thanks for the report!
sounds like more and more Americans are waking up. As for those two Bush supporters---they are obviously very much afraid and very much in the dark about international relations, why torture is never a good idea, and about Islam and Muslims.

4. Ask them
where the oil for their SUV's will come from if we blow up the middle east!

I don't understand people like that. The comment about we will be forced to wear burkas when the Arabs tak over our country. Why don't these bigots see that the Arab nations feel the same about us? They fear that we will invade them and turn them into something they are not.

I know women are second class citizens in Arab countries, some countries anyway, but lately I feel like a second class citizen in my own country, with the neocon's trying to take away my rights.

Just my two cents this afternoon.

6. Bush's approval down in Florida
According to a SurveyUSA poll released on October 18 (before the Meirs and Libby fiascos), Bush's approval rating in Florida is 41% compared to 58% who disapprove, virtually the same as the national average, so it does not surprise me to hear that even Republicans down there are speaking up against Bush. I think people are finally beginning to realize that the puppet has no clothes--only strings pulled by Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rove, the real axis of evil.

Bush always was a jerk, is a jerk, and always will be a jerk. I could never understand how people couldn't see he is just another stupid, spoiled brat, rich kid who has always gotten his way and throws a tantrum when he doesn't. If daddy wasn't so rich and powerful, W would be less than a big, fat nobody!

8. Those two women are the very kind of bush lovers
that get on my nerve. They go to the meetings and watch Fox and follow all of the party lines. These very women really believe that bush is protecting them. Maybe the others have had enough due to the hurricanes and something related to that or money.

11. I would be happier if people were bashing the entire republican
party, instead of just Bush. Thinking of the mid term election...
