When and Where - Next Major Election?
When and where will the next standoff election be held between a Democrat and Republican on at least a statewide arena? Has someone died or left office for some reason that would cause any sort of special election anywhere in the country? Is there someone somewhere, a Governor, Congressman, State Legislator, someone like that running in a race off season where concentrated support from Democrats all around the nation might make an overwhelming difference?

1. in Texas, we have Prop 2 - Nov, 8 2005
It's one of those anti-gay marriage bills. I predict that if Texas votes it down, there will be news. :)

2. There's a few governorships open in the 2005 election...
But I don't think anything's all that close. Maine has a gay rights issue that could be a pretty close call. Other than that, nothing comes to mind.
