If Bush used the information we now know and was completley honest with the public the public wouldn't have allowed us to go to war and the Congress wouldn't have voted for it and it wouldn't have never made it to the Senate.

Please don't look at individual statements outside of their context. Reid pulled the rug out from under Miers by condemning her with faint praise. Hell, he even suggested her to the President. This was a brilliant play. But people criticized him and even called him names. Not very nice even if he had been wrong. But he wasn't, was he?

Now, people take a single sentence out of its political context and criticize him for that, saying that he "sold us out". Please people, think for a second before you act. Understand that Reid is doing what he has to do as Minority Leader.

He frames things this way because that's where the public has framed the issue. Like another has said, the Dems need for the public to decide for themselves about * lying us into war. Reid knows now, just like the rest of us, that the truth is going to come out. When it does, Reid and the Dems will have set up the perfect receptacle for that information, a citizenry who is eager to know the truth from sources other than the Minority Leader.

It's another shrewd play.

I was too quick at judging with the Miers thing but I trust Reid as a leader and what he's doing. I do get the feeling from watching his conference that he has a huge plan up his sleeve and he can't give away too much information because the republicans and neocons would just go against it so he has to becareful with what he says.
