It was great. They took a few question's and than when Reid got to the last question Schumer answered after Reid and the three of them just walked away. Beautiful! crooksandliars.com has it.

It doesn't mean he doesn't know the truth. This is how he communicates to moderate and rural voters that he is reasonable...by not openly demonizing the enemy.

Be easy on the guy. He basically said that Chimp would not have brought the war thing to Congress if he had known then what we know now.

That's how the Dems have to frame the issue. Many of them voted for the war based on the info that had been supplied by the WH.

If you say that this is about * lying us into war, Reid is agreeing with that. He even said so this morning.

So calm down and please don't take our leaders' words out of context.

Reid knows what he's doing here. I have complete faith in him.

He wants to let voters draw that conclusion themselves.

He will continue to play innocent, saying, "If Bush knew all this, he'd never have taken us to war in the first place...(...would he? *wink*)"

49. After Reid's Miers Jujitsu I thought people would give him the benefit.
Please don't look at individual statements outside of their context. Reid pulled the rug out from under Miers by condemning her with faint praise. Hell, he even suggested her to the President. This was a brilliant play. But people criticized him and even called him names. Not very nice even if he had been wrong. But he wasn't, was he?

Now, people take a single sentence out of its political context and criticize him for that, saying that he "sold us out". Please people, think for a second before you act. Understand that Reid is doing what he has to do as Minority Leader.

He frames things this way because that's where the public has framed the issue. Like another has said, the Dems need for the public to decide for themselves about * lying us into war. Reid knows now, just like the rest of us, that the truth is going to come out. When it does, Reid and the Dems will have set up the perfect receptacle for that information, a citizenry who is eager to know the truth from sources other than the Minority Leader.

It's another shrewd play.

51. I have seen the whole clip.
My evaluation remains the same. He was not giving his personal belief, he was framing the issue. We're going to hear many Dems saying this kind of thing. When proof of the truth comes out that the WH engineered the whole thing, the public will be well-prepared to take action. Then, you'll hear the Dems frame the issue differently.

The Dems are playing the Repugs like a violin here. The Repugs are owned by the Dems now.

But you do realize there is still a bit of confusion, right? Right now Reid has given the Repubs an opportunity to continue the lie that they got bad intel and that it was a CIA intelligence failure, just like Trent Lott just affirmed on Lou Dobbs.

So, people are going to be a little confused for the next few days and maybe weeks, until Reid tightens the noose.

61. I think so too
I was too quick at judging with the Miers thing but I trust Reid as a leader and what he's doing. I do get the feeling from watching his conference that he has a huge plan up his sleeve and he can't give away too much information because the republicans and neocons would just go against it so he has to becareful with what he says. Karl Rove has met his match with Reid I highly believe. I've been watching him since last December after his appearance on "Meet the Press" and he's only disappointed once with his vote on the bankruptcy bill but not as a leader.

No one is happy it took this long, but no one wants to back away from investigating it.

And collusion is a very serious issue, the best evidence having come in recent weeks. It could justify conspiracy charges and, if shown, the case for grounds for impeachment.
