Does Bush really think John Q. gives a shit about the Fed chairman?
I was just hearing on Cabal News Network that Bush decided to make his announcement today to counter the perceptions that he wasn't in control. To show that he was leading in these uncertain times. Does he really, for one minute, think John Q. Public will pay the slightest bit of attention to this nomination? Or, could even pretend to explain who the Fed Chairman really is or what he does?

Man...talk about DESPERATE!

1. NO! But the stock market does! He can't affort to lose the
investment community too! I think they are the only ones who still support him, sort of.

2. Greenspan's gig was thru January, but..
since nothing else is going on * decided to give 'em something to talk about.
He sure got out of that room in a hurry.
"Mr. Chairman thanks for showing up". "Showing up"? God, what a dumbass.

3. He could have dropped it 24 hours AFTER indictments. Timing puzzling.
He could have dropped it 24 hours after indictments. The timing is puzzling. The CNN explanation is as good as any, I suppose.

4. It is just another attempt...
Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 01:34 PM by Village Idiot
to place ANYTHING in the news rather than the pending indictments and trials of DeLay, Rove, Libby, Frist, Abramoff, etc...

There really isn't a lot of good news for USAsians at present, and the Right have lost faith in Greenspan, anyway...at least with this announcement, * might be attempting to placate his "base," who seem a little PO'd over the Harriet Miers appointment...
