or a 20 month effort at stonewalling starting tomorrow that winds up technically exonpnerating Rove?

1. Rove flipping and coming clean would be a good thing
Don't worry - you would still get 20 months of stonewalling, + bush distancing himself from Rove, + the mother of all swiftboat whispering campaigns AIMED AT Rove.

2. Definitely the latter
Anything that prolongs this through next year's Congressional elections is a good thing. The press has A.D.D. If Rove pleaded guilty, by next year the press will have forgotton and again they'll be falling for *'s pre-election terror/saber-rattling B.S.
