What did Cindy accomplish in Crawford?
If Bush were strong, he wouldn't have had to sneak off to Idaho while Cindy was still in Crawford, and find a family with six men who served in the military to parade out in front of the cameras.

If Bush were strong, he wouldn't have had to line up another group of soldiers behind his podium on a dramatically lit stage to convey his support for the troops.

If Bush were strong, he would have set aside his brush-clearing, and his excercising to meet with Cindy--just as he met with Tammy Pruett--to say "Thank you for your sacrifice." To say, "I am truly sorry for the loss of your son." To say anything at all to Cindy directly; rather than to the press gaggle, as he spoke about her in his made-for-soundbyte speech.

Cindy, you handed the President the one political challenge that he and Karl Rove could not squash. You put them on the defensive and they failed, because they could not tell the truth. You made these weak and cowardly men show the world what they really are: opportunists and grandstanders.

Thank you, Cindy. We love you.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is awesome! Read the whole thing.

1. I went on the weekend she wasn't there...
because she wasn't there and wanted it to stay alive. A proud moment I'll NEVER forget. Not much for "things" but the little glass heart I got at the Peace House is one of my most treasured posessions now.

Never met you, Cindy, but didn't have to--you got me off my butt and I'm forever grateful.

Ellen

3. Cindy stirred the pot...
And she brought it to a boil.

The monkey did not have the balls to meet with the grieving mother of a dead US soldier killed in a illegal war.

She did more in three months than all of the Democrats have done in five years.

I love Cindy Sheehan.

One day, she will be regarded as a American hero and true patriot.

And the monkey will be disgraced forever.

4. Not much
our boys and girls are still dying in Iraq. It takes a whole lot more than just one. She tried but very few more joined on.

9. Oh I disagree
Maybe because I was in Crawford and got to meet Cindy I have a shaded view. But I see a momentum here now that was not in place in July. The polls alone are a strong enough indicator that public opinion is coming around. And that is the first step. No way can this war continue without the support of the people.

5. rejuvinated a tired anti-war movement
by tired I mean we've been at this a long long time
since before the war started . The Devastation
of that war starting anyway wiped us of much
needed energy . Then the re-selection bush in 04
pulled more energy from us . Cindy started us
recharging . At least that is my experience .

11. Cindy accomplished something very important, imo
She was able to garner the attention of the mainstream press and focus them on bush and not in a pretty light. It was the start of negative coverage of bush and it has escalated from that time on.

She also brought the focus back to the reasons for the Iraq invasion and occupation and put faces back on to the numbers of dead U.S. soldiers.
