1. Even if this did happen, they would move out into the north Atlantic....
and fizzle out. They wouldn't pose any threat to North America.

12. Hey obxhead...
Fellow SC resident here, :hi: what city are you from? We live about 30 miles, in the boonies, outside of Columbia.

21. not necessarily- the 'Perfect Storm' happened over halloween-

8. I saw that sooner but it probably won't happen
Although that track for Alpha is decidedly further to the west than I saw earlier. That map had Alpha heading northeast towards Bermuda.

Alpha in 33 hours: 26.0 N 73.0 W

Wilma in 33 hours: 26.3 N 81.5 W

Hopefully they will remain far enough apart.

20. Surf's UP!
I had a similar observation in this thread.

THey may not combine but the projected tracks have them within 600 NM with Alpha's storm surge piling up on Wilma's intake, all the while moving up the Atlantic seaboard. A 1000+ NM wide swath of TS winds cruising the coast.

I predict 20' breakers on Hatteras, with the potential to re-derange the barrier islands.

Shipping will be delayed about a week. No captain will put his ship north of that system on purpose, especially the LPG supertankers headed for the terminal at the Chesapeake Mouth.
