1. I am very saddened by the fact that I've had to miss Tweety the one week
he's been semi-rational.

22. He's playing catch up at a furious pace to cover his own deceits.
He doesn't want the finger of complicity to land on him.

He knew for TWO years what he knows today. And he allowed GOP operatives to spin against Wilson as a partisan campaign hack working for Kerry throughout last year. He never corrected them with the truth.

40. Me, too, CatWoman!
He has repeated that lie every night this week:

"Wilson claims he went to Niger at the request of the Vice President."

That fact or non-fact has no relevance to the illegal outing of an undercover operative, however.

2. how dare he use that line
Edited on Fri Oct-21-05 04:04 PM by Bob3
Still HST did use it in reference to Nixon's last days "Fear and Loathing in the Bunker - The Scum Also Rises"

That said Tweety has no business quoting Thompson. May he be visited by huge Giant Bats all swooping and diving at his car.

30. Someone once described what Gonzo Journalism is
"Gonzo Journalism" is journalism where the writer not only gets personally involved in the story, but actually changes the story's outcome.

34. Ummm...but would that make Judy Miller a "gonzo journalist"?
I wouldn't want to put her in the same class as HST, when she shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence!

50. Thompson never pretended to be an objective jouralist
But Judy did when she was writing all those Phoney WMD stories and what not. That is the important differnce.

You knew what side Thompson's sympathies lay with when you read his work - Judy was pretending to present objective facts. Thompson was on the side of the outlaw, the outsider and the margalized "the Doomed" to quote Where the Buffalo Roam (not a good movie but the term is good) - Hunter would never have said something as vapid as "Yoo Hoo King!" to the King of Jordan like Miller did.

18. He's amusing but not too insightful, tweety get's onto one idea
and then goes on and on about it. Currently, he is angry because he, as a "journalist", was duped about the war and so he is, at long last, aware of the fact that the rationale for war blew.

However, prior to the invasion he was all stars and stripes whenever one of the many neoconnsters showed up to bleat propaganda on his show.

43. Repeat on now... David Shuster's report is devastating.
He focuses on the forged Italian memo, links it to Chalabi, shows a portion of the Cincinnati speech... it's concise and mindblowing to anyone who wasn't yet aware of the facts.

Shuster says that Fitzgerald is casting a wide net and thinking more in terms of how the country entered the war in Iraq.

Shuster has been incredible this week. He explains the story from top to bottom and hits all the key points, because Hardball has given him a series of long segments in which to do so. His reports must be devastating to the administration, and there aren't even any indictments yet.

Finally, Shuster brought up the new Fitz website. :-)

too bad they don't wrest the show from him and give it to Shuster and David Stretch, or whatever his name is from NBC
